Too bad, it doesn't work on 04/05's. Different wiring harness so even a new ECU won't get it to work.

I can confirm that this works on a 2005 Australian Mazda 3 SP23, so I now have the trip computer up and working!

Freaking outstanding, now I just need to figure out how to make that media button do something, it seems such a waste having a button that doesnt do anything on my console!!

Interestingly, it is not an option on my year car, nor was it offered as an upgrade at all, and the MPS models were only a flicker in the imagination at the time we bought our SP23, so that's one heck of an undocumented feature....

Its an 11/05 model SP23, can't see where it was made (is there a marking for place of manufacture on the car?), with the climate control.

There should be a decal on the driver's lower door jam. Climate control, ok. You likely have the wiring harness that is used in all the Mazda3's today.

I wonder how accurate the average MPG is - cruising on the highway it thinks I get 32-35 MPG.. Not sure if that's realistic.

For me the av MPG is alway high, usually by about 1 - 2 MPG as compared to dividing miles by pumped gallons.

I just got an 08 Mazda3 S Touring and tried this too. I can get it to say "DIS ON" but nothing else works. Does the fact that it says "DIS ON" indicate it's capable but they may have added another step to activate?

This is the *ONE* thing that I really miss from my last car.

confirmed that it works for 07 3i sport's, my buddy just bought one cause he liked my car and i gave it a whirl and it worked, also worked on a cx-7 i had for a loaner from work while my car was having work done

This hack worked on my Mazda 3i but does NOT work on my CX7. I tried it numerous times and nothing would come up. I have the Bose system in my CX7, I'm wondering if this is the reason why. Did your loaner have the Bose system in it?
