Miata getting the 2.3 turbo next year.

I have no idea about the whole ford engine being used in it because Mazda is doing away with Fords help within the next few years and will stop having the b-series truck and the tributes because they are just ford Rangers and escapes with different badging. Towards mid 08 the tribute will be a hybrid vehicle (i dont know why so late, a hybrid escape has been available for some time now) but i havent heard anything else.

Ford owns market share of mazda so mazda pretty much has to do what ford says.It dont really matter if mazda wants there help or not because they are going to get anyways. On a side note Ford is talking about selling mazda but Im sure since mazda had such good sales lately they may put it off for awhile.

mazda makes too much money for ford to sell them right now. aston is gone, and jag and rover are being tossed around.

They might even sell Volvo, which would be a mistake IMO.

There's definitely the option of the 2.0 turbo'd. Mazda is doing the Mazdaspeed 2 in JDM only with a turbo 2.0 and the specs are about 230hp/230tq. Knowing how car companies leak more to the media than they do to their own employees, I'm inclined to believe a new MSMX-5 is coming.

and given mazdas history of mazdaspeed versions in the last 2 years of a body style it is time for the 2009 and 2010 MS MX-5 so I am betting that it gets done.

I hope they dont sell Volvo,Those are nice cars..I had a bad ass 2001 S80 T6 twin turbo that I really loved. They can dump those pos jags,They are ugly.I hope they keep land rover tho,I really like the discovery and the range rover. If the gas milage was not so bad I would have one for the wife.

Mazda isnt their money loss.. Its the anchor known as Jag and Land Rover... Aston was a good sell as well since i dont know how many people can afford $178K - $233K cars.. I can say ive never seen one driven on the street.

Volvo is a keeper... They are doing a lot of cross platform sharing, including the power plants and chassis's.

Ford's problems began with Bill Ford himself. He is a complete moron and to kill off SVT, their brand name and R&D, was asinine. All of that to build the Ford GT, which never even made their scheduled build units. SVT's R&D filtered into Ford mainstream cars. The damage is done for now. They need to dump their Euro brands and get back on track. You know its a bad day at Ford when a Shelby Cobra GT500 sells for more than a vette (loser).
