I finally got around to doing a dyno on my 08 Speed3.

Not bad I'd say?

It's running pig rich, so I need to def. find a way to alter the A/F....

Overall, I'm happy!
Max HP= 249.98
MAX Tq= 276.08

Did a 4th Gear pull WOT to redline.
To come, CAI Install!! :)

Great numbers! It'll be nice to see what you run with a CAI.

I see you went to the DynoShop in Santee. I'm planning on heading down there next month for dyno day. How much did you pay for the dyno time and how many pulls did you get? I see they're doing 2 for $40 cash on the 22nd so that seems pretty good.

Thanks guys.

I got 2 pulls. 104 and some change....labor? lol I'll head back down there when I get the CAI installed for another pull....another 104...then the CBE and I'll probably hit up dyno day witcha! lol

Hehe, thanks everyone!!

I JUST got done installing my CAI; going for a "test" drive. Dyno on that mugga should come payday..? lol

Well, Just got back from my test drive...

That CAI really opens it up! When accellerating, the blood in my head gushes to the back of it! lol Pix coming tomorrow! However, I have to take my car in to the dealer for the springs/camber link/struts/damper install... :(

Oh wait, edit..edit... lol You can hear the WHOOSH when you accelerate hard too! nice...wonder what a BOV would sound like along with it...gonna google! lol

Good numbers.

I got my dyno done at The Dyno Shop also for my stock baseline. I want to go back soon to see how much the CPe CAI and TXS race pipe added.

Awesome dude! Did your car run TOO rich? Mine sure as hell did.... hopefully the CAI I just intalled does a little something for the richness...lol
We should head out there together one time....there are others in the SanDiego area, we should all hit up that place for some pulls...maybe get a group discount! lol

22nd next month, "Dyno Day" at the Dyno Shop i think.. hehe

This really bugs me how these cars run so rich. Just think of the fuel mileage you could be getting if it came tuned properly from the factory.

yeah, that is true...maybe its time for a reflash already on the fuel mapping.

do you think they run super rich in knowing this car needs to be moded to get its real power out? i mean, by adding a CAI and exhaust you gaining somethin glike 50 hp and 50 fpt or so. that should lean it out to around normal right? i mean, it makes sense in a weird sorta way.

SOON TO FIND THAT OUT FO SHO!! Lol

Well rich from the factory is a lot better than lean. I love turbo noises so I suggest a HKS bov. Now that I have no cats and run it vta the car sounds so mean. Subbin to see how the second dyno day goes. Wish I could find a dyno for 22 bucks. Mine is 3 pulls for 115!

i been running vta for some time now and i think i might just leave it...the shifts arent as crisp but the car runs fine

Adding mods like a cold air intake will not lower the air fuel ratio. The ECU will just compensate for the added air by increasing the fuel. The only way that the fuel would lean a bit would be if you reached the limit for the fuel system but even if you got to that point at best it would only lean out right around the max hp part of the powerband.

In other words, we NEED to be able to tune these things asap.

You said it. The XEDE, or COBB solution should be able to allow this, right? But when will it be released with P&P, the world may never know....for the XEDE solution that is. (confused)

That's the beauty of MAFs based cars. On my Nissan, I actually like it that way. I can change out cams and other breathing mods without really changing the tune too much. Granted, I can retune and dyno to optimize it for my parts, but unless I am changing out fueling parts or the turbo itself, I don't have to play with the tune everytime (think about how Hondas used to have to add FPR's on their MAP based systems back in the day after they got past a few bolt ons and had to richen it up a tad).

Those are some great numbers by the way. I surely hope when I pick mine up, that it can be one of these freak motors and put out some good numbers. I always end up with Monday motors, I'm hoping for a Wednesday motor (second)
