UUV - Urban Utility Vehicle

:
2017 Mazda CX5 GT - Premium
I was trying to come up with a new acronym to classify our 5's as. UUV was the best i could do.
Im sure you guys have some more, lets hear 'em
(drive)

i like "space wagon" That's what they call this segment of vehicle in Europe.
My wife thinks that sounds too star trek though.

I've been saying "mini-mini-van" Most folks say "station wagon" until I point out the sliding rear doors. MMV sounds about right anyway. Or how about Urban Assault Vehicle?

What's wrong with VAN...

The word has been in use for 60+ Years..

Well, Mazda does not consider it into the VAN car segment (The Mazda MPV may be more like it), yeah, the sliding door does not help the cause... :D

Question: Do you usually refer to your Mazda as a Familia Station Wagon or so? If yes, then I don't have further comments ;)

Urban Assault Vehicle...nice :p

but you guys are missing the fun. we need Acronyms, not "ITS a VAN" or a glorified station wagon with big wheels (SUV)

i shall call you.... mini-minivan, muahahaahahahahhaah *evil pinky*
lol, brilliant!

I'm sorry, but I agree with Brian here, last thing the world needs is another marketing gimick 3-letter acronym to define a car. I personally call it a minivan... when I say "...my minivan" to other people, they're quick to tell me that they don't think it's a minivan, but then they can't say what it is, sooo...

Wedge shape + two front doors + 2 sliding doors + rear hatch = Minivan. Now that that's settled...

Well, the EPA says it is a station wagon. Most of the people I meet think it is a Toyota Matrix. I call it the best vehicle sollution for about 80% of the US popullation. I think MAV rolls of the tounge the easist. One thing is for sure, we do NOT call it a Minivan!! As my kids tell their friends, "It can't be a minivan, it has a stick!!" :).

Well Mazda might not call it a VAN, but Mazdaspeed JP said that their lowering sport spring kit for the Mazda 5 makes the

"Van feel and behave more like a Car"

So you guys can call it a Rocket Car or a MMV or whatever, it's got sliding doors... It's a Van...

Stick shift or not.

P.S. My Car is a Station Wagon.. It has always been one, I have always said "Wagons Are For Racing"

:)

There it the "SMART CAR" how about the "BEST CAR"

Or since the MPV is dead we can call it the RWZ

"ROOM WITH ZOOM"

I just tell my friends I drive a Mazda5. They seem to understand it's not an SUV, it's not a MINIVAN, it's not a 'car'. It's a Mazda5.

At the gas station, another M5 owner greeted me: ' How do you like your Five? 'Very much' I said. you got a 5 too?

Actual Utility Vehicle. In contrast to SUV/CUV's which are pretty seriously lacking in "utility!"

Minivan is boring. If that is then the case, can we at least leave it on 'CSMC', Cool Soccer Mom Car? :D. Hmmm, Let me check with my wife to see if she likes it... (nuts) LOL

Or, let's ask the DOT how is it classified in their paperwork, they will know (boom07)

"Wagons Are For Racing" :)

Oh, I remembered that old thread :D :D. Well, with those mods you put together over that "station wagon", yes that one is for racing (drive2).

What can I say about vans, minivans:
When the exhaust recall hit my MZ5 I basically got a top notch trim 06 Mazda MPV for around 5 weeks. Yes, it was a Mazda but I did not feel the zoom-zoom whatsoever, even with that 5AT. Quick 6cyl acceleration, comfortable but felt biiigggg and imprecise. Also, I recently got a Grand Caravan as a rental due to business (one of those days that there are no cars left at the rental place so you get what you can). Same thing, powerful, tons of space, cool stow-n-go seats (I think that is the name)... yet very big and "fluffy" driving feeling...
