Stock MS3 Car&Driver Test Sheet 0-60 5.4sec

I wish car and driver would keep their damn stories straight. When they first reviewed the car they stated a 5.8 sec 0-60, now a 5.4. Unless weather plays a strong roll which it can if we're talking about 110 degree day compared to a 70 with a light breeze.

that 911 turbo owned house. i know someone with a porsche 911 twin turbo and the thing is absolutely nuts! why would they compare that with the speed 3? and the zo6 against the speed3? thats just insane. (poor mini cooper)

There are not. That's why they're in different classes within the comparo. -_-;;

I read this article in the magazine last month. The article title is "Rating the Best Street Cars on the Track". They actually split the cars into 4 different classes for comparison so the MS3 wasn't actually ranked against the Z06 or the 911... but rather against the Solstice and Mini. You can see the color coding in the PDF.

It's a pretty worthless article overall since the vehicle selection doesn't make any sense. It seems they left off a whole bunch of vehicles that would make great comparisons within each segment.

I mean... the EVO and STI aren't even on there. And who the heck compares the Solstice against the MS3?

C&D's reasoning for the cars it picked was to split classes by price only. This year only new models that didn't run last year were chosen, or a couple of models that were significantly improved in some way. I'm sure when the new STI, Evo X and SRT-4 come out they'll be included. I personally like this article 'cause it deals with more than accel/braking/skidpad numbers and gives a better idea of what the cars handle like. I also like how the Z06 demolished the 911 Turbo for half the price (even though I love 911's).

got it now. i just didnt understand the layout at first i guess. i see what your all talking about now. sucks you need to travel between the two years to see the numbers between the m3s and its real competition. to bad they dont have all the numbers for all the cars all in one spreadsheet.
