Hey guys, I just got my GHL exhaust and the way its mounted, the exhaust hangers seem kinda long. Anyone have any suggestions for a shorter hanger possibly something more sturdy than stock?

I noticed the same thing.. I used a die grinder and cut off the hangers... then i took off about 1/4 inch, rewelded and it worked.. Still has issues with the rear but im going to solve it when i find a better tip to weld on there.

How do you like the sound? Mine didnt come with the resonator, did yours?

yeah well i wasnt about to cut and weld anything when i was installing this because Jeff (from GHL) swore to me that it would be fine the way it was.

I was talking to my friend that helped me with the install about it, he has the GHL turbo back for his GTi and had the same problem. He found some shorter, stiffer bushings that really solved the problem...so im looking for reccomendations on those.

and I love the sound. There is no resonator. I see you have the PG test pipe, what do you think of the system without that cat?

CP-E had mentioned to me that they were going to come up with some more sturdy hangers. But then haven't gotten back to me on that as I was looking in to the same thing. Although the stock hangers work just fine.

i love the growl now, i can only imagine that it gets better when you open it up! Yeah i really want the race pipe, but I'm saving up some funds for a new truck, so that and the upgraded top mount are being put on hold....for now (glare)

Would love to hear you guys and compare your growl to mine. My growl is pretty deep and mean. People back off when I open up and it sucks...especially when it pops when I do a quick shift. Coming to work going down 5th street here in downtown I have popped and saw a couple of guys duck...lmao
