Makes all the difference in the world. I rec'd my TWM shifter bushing package today (and ordered it only 3 days ago!) and installed it. Took me 10 minutes start to finish. The instructions are very through but in all honestly, excessive. I removed the hand brake cover/drink holder, the shift knob (say it Ka-nob) and shift boot/plastic cover.
I took my flat blade and popped off the arm closest to the gas pedal, removed the 4 bolts (say it boats) removed the metal inserts, and shimmied out the rubber bushings. (the one furthest left and front was easier to remove through the bottom.
Popped the news ones in, buttoned it all back together and off I went. In normal, drive the through the neighborhood and watch for kiddies speed, not much difference. On open highway, beat the s*** out of it mode, BIG difference.
Very positive feel. There's still some shifter play. No doubt since everything else attaching to metal is plastic (the shift rod pieces are plastic) but it still feels much more positive in actuation.
$25 a lot for what you actually get parts wise? Maybe
$25 in performance felt after the install (yes!, perhaps 4 times that)
easy easy mod that's well worth the time and effort.
*thanks to dread and SSMS3 for the advice
