ohhhh s*** i need to do that too. when i apply my brakes it feels like a damned jackhammer.

I've got the original stock rotors on the Speed - with about 60k on them. Some folks rotors had warping problems - mine was mainly the front passenger one that was the worst...also autocrossed it for a season +. I think that the stop-and-go traffic that I have dealt with the past two years is what was so hard on them.

Dunno, I bought the thing used. Slotted front rotors, might be stockers in the back.

Stockers would explain it. My wife's car actually went all the way down to the rivets on the pads and my coworker wore his rear rotors pretty much all the way down as there was huge pieces missing.

Note on what I did for my MSP today: Called the body shop and the parts are all there and body work has begun. They figure end of week is the earliest I'll get it back.

stock rotors aren't that good. mine were warped after 45,000 miles. replaced them with centric rotors and ceramic posiquiet pads. absolutely smooth for the past 30,000 miles.

I may start autoxing next season, I figure by then I might have had the chance to save the cash and replace all the corners with good rotors and pads. Looks like I'm going to need new pads up front soon enough anyway.

Yeah stock rotors suck. When I bought the car with 34k they were warped as s***. I replaced them with rockauto blanks and posiquiet pads. Still smooth after almost 20k.

yeah, rotors and brakes are pretty standard.

Why not do it yourself? You only need a big C clamp, parking brake tool, and some hand tools. If you had to buy the tools right out it would run you about $20. Rotors and pads can be had at many different places. I got my EBC blank rotors, EBC green stuff pads, and Russell stainless lines from TurfBurn on this forum.

i agree. do it yourself or learn how to from a friend who can teach you. it's not hard with the proper tools. once you learn how, you'll be amazed why some places charge so much for brake service. and with all the great vendors on this forum, you can get a nice brake package for much cheaper than if you go to a shop to get it done.

I hope its on the clips that hold the pad on the caliper ...

Search through the brake section, I am sure there is a how-to. The only clips I can think of are the ones holding the brake line to the strut body. In which case, a hammer is your best friend and make sure you are putting them back in the correct orientation.

Agreed with all above, learn to do it yourself. Helps to have somebody who knows what they're doing around, as brakes aren't something you want to **** up, but its much more satisifying to do it yourself. And $$$ savings is king.

Put worm clamps on some radiator lines, drying to find which of the band clamps under my hood sucks so much so it'll stop smelling like coolant after I've run the damn car.

Here's the How-To for the rear pads and rotors, but I am not sure if the piston retraction is the same on this car versus the MSP. I have always used one of these, which you put onto the piston and turn it clockwise to push it back into the caliper.
