AGREED!(protest)3+5 said:Buit9110 - So why not get it fixed? What makes me more curious is why do all those mods and leave it smoking? That would really get to me the first time it happened and I'd be on the phone daily for a solution. I don't care which part or how cheap/expensive, no car should blow seals and spew smoke in the first 2 years...
i agree completely. Thats why i am so curious about the issue, since i might be investing in one, and if there is no fix im not sure if i want to, because that can cause extensive damage, and with my luck, it would all fall to pieces the day my warantee ran upAWDRACER6 said:AGREED!(protest)

mine does it. 5K on the clock, it's been at the dealer waiting for a new turbo for nearly 2 weeks. I have mazdaspeed CAI on and that's it. it did it before the CAI. anyway, the fix is a new turbo under warranty.LesteR723 said:I have heard from a few people that the turbo seals on the MS6 fail, and the cars spew white smoke after about 20 minutes of idling. Who all has experienced this problem, and is there a fix for it?
Why would a new turbo fix the problem if it is only the turbo seal???
i'm glad someone asked the question...i've been wondering this all along...

Because its far less cost/labor per hour on average plus taking the risk on the seals still not on correctly. So basically, the cost for mazda is cheaper.
the risks of the seals not seating makes sense, but the cost of the turbo must be much higher than just the gaskets, no?
