Wrinkle Paint on Valve Cover Q

So you dont have to remove the entire valve cover every time you need to make a change.

How stupid would that be on Dyno Day .. Umm, hold on guys, wait... I have to take off my valve cover to move my gear a degree. Everyone go for coffee, you too mr $100.00/H Dyno operator. Go have a Dump or something, On Me, DOn't worry, I'll still pay you for your time buddy, just go have a Poopy.

Ah.. im not used to having to adjust timing .. no $$$ mods.. only bolt ons.

HUH, nice, tell us more about this gun, method of use, durability of your finished product (compared to a 400 dollar pro job), etc. I'm interested in poudercoating and got the 1200 F with ceramic (you gotta bake it, but the min baking temp is pretty low, I'll just run the engine I guess....??). But a gun and kit might be a little more effective than a key and a spray can from autozone
so give us info and pics (or do it, then give us info and pics )

Sorry, I didn't realize someone had asked questions. I just saw the thread again...I know its been awhile but here's a reply.

Gun: $69.99 at Harbor Freight. Works great for a hobby gun though I wouldn't run a business around it. I bought the lifetime warranty($12) and have had the gun replaced twice since 2001.
Method of use: prep, shoot, cure. Takes no longer then painting.
Durability: Resists chips, scratches, chemicals etc better then paint. I know when I'm working on the engine, I'll put stuff on the valve cover all the time. Drag a socket/ratchet across, drop a screwdriver on it, bang into with a breaker bar etc etc.

The two things that's going to keep most people from doing this:
(A.) you need a dedicated oven...not your kitchen oven. The fumes are toxic and once they get in there, its not safe for cooking anymore.
(B.) you need a compressed air source. Nothing drastic, a small compressor will work.
On a side note, once you have a compressor and start using an air ratchet, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Resurrecting from the dead .. but I'm interested in the same thing. I just did this with Duplicolor Daytona Yellow and I don't like it at all. The color doesn't match very well, so I'm interested in stripping it off and starting over. Wrinkle looks awesome by the way ...
