yep,, just bought me a turbo XS racing bypass type-h34!! woo.. cant wait.. should be shipped in 3-4 days... should be a nice Woooshhhhh sound.. lol,, especially when I raise it to 9psi

What exactly will this do for ya??? HP increase? How much for this mod etc. I don't know much about BOV or bypass valves for that matter!
And please don't tell me to do a search, I have read lots of crap and I just want an opinion about why ya got it!

Cirielle, when you let off the throttle under boost, the air the turbo is pushing needs to go somewehere other then back to the turbo (this will damage the turbo itself) so the BOV/bypass valve nets this air either into the atmosphere, or back into the intake tract before the turbo.

Our cars dont like the atmospheric BOv too much, as its putting fuel for that air into the engine, thus causing a stumble or stall. Ther are products th combat this like the Apexi S-afc or the HKS AFC. either companies website www.apexi.com or www.hksusa.com can give you all the information in regards ti these items.

Yeah I understand for the most part, generally what it does. What I was kinda asking is why we need to upgrade ours? Does it increase the HP? Does it make it more efficient?
As far as the stumble/stall/hesitation, isn't our problem due more to the running rich and the ECU?

In a nutshell on a stock turbo setup running low PSi a upgrade BOV/Bypass valve is not important. It is when you start increasing the PSI that you will steady start requiring quicker means of relieving blow back on the turbo.
Take boostisgood good example and think about what is happening when you up the boost. That extra flow of air needs to vent somewhere. A stock BOV can sometimes sustain this extra need but eventually start to form leaks and fail. Thus people upgrade them to help quicken the relieving of this extra air.

umm,, nope.. bypass valve.. check your self there...

A blow off valve is atmospheric. Whereas the bypass valve dumps back into the system. The bypass valve may make noise but not nearly as loud as a BOV would.

ok,, and he said it is a blow off valve... I simply told him that we MSP's have bypass valves... I know the diff. in BOV and BPV's....

I'd love to see pics after the install - I had a similar bypass valve on my '00 1.8T GTI (it was a Bailey, not TurboXS, but similar) and liked it a lot - I'd like to see what the aftermarket piece looks like on our MSP's....
