So I'm driving along listening to Chili Pepper when all of a sudden my damn radio decides to close for no reason. Only, it didn't close all the way and the radio stayec on!!! Can you say :wtf: So I pull over (gotta have tunes!) and begin to realize the hard way that the thing s*** the bed!!! WHAT A PIECE OF s***!!!!!! I've only had the car for like 3 months and the radio's already broken?!!! I never liked the fact that it flips around. I think it's a stupid gimick that any "professional" thief would never fall for. (just look at the difference in appearance between the flipped over head unit and the head unit when you take the face off) So I'm trying to get this thing to work.... nothing!!! AGHH!!! I know it could be worse!! I suppose my engine could have blew up or my tires could have came off... but come on!! this is why I bought a NEW car! I wasn't expecting this type of BS. If I sound pissed it's cuz I am!! Music is my LIFE!! Sure, it's fun to listen to the engine/turbo while you're driving... but when you're in the car for an hour straight, you need a little variety.
So anyway, back to the topic... Has anyone experienced this issue with their HU??? I'm guessing many have! As cool as it looks and as sophisticated it's technology is, everytime this thing flips over I hear those gears whining and it's like a ticking time bomb. Well I guess the bomb finally went off after 3 LOOOOOONG months!!!
I won't be TOO pissed if I simply bring it in next week and they replace the head unit... and give me a million dollars. But my cynical/pessimistic side tells me they're going to have to order it (calling these guys today) and that'll take WEEKS if not MONTHS if not... umm, you get the point. I wonder if I can talk them into getting me a similar priced model that doesnt' flip over every god damn time you turn on or off the car!! WHY DON'T THEY ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE THAT IN THE OPTIONS MENU???? (please, someone correct me and tell me you can!! I'll feel dumb but at least I'll have the info I need. Problem is, I've asked everyone from the guys at Tweeter to Kenwood themselves... nothing!!) HOW STOOPIT!!!!
Ok ok... I'll stop complaining. Things could be worse... I guess. If anyone's got any insight or feedback please feel free. The damn thing won't even turn on!! it literally gets stuck half way every time and pressing the buttons is useless. I've (reluctantly) disconnected the battery/reset the alarm/reset the radio/clutched the faceplate in one hand, dropped to my knees with the camera panning up to an arial shot as I pleaded to God... "WHY ME????" hahaha nothing worked!!!
Oh look.... starving Ethiopian boy on TV needs my help. I'll stop complaining now!! Peace
