Will this throw up a CEL???

Will removing my stock axle back (muffler only, leaving cats in place) cause a cel? I'm selling my axle back and having a straight pipe with a nice tip installed untill i can afford the full exhaust.

um, yeah you'll get a little power. rx-kevin got some power from removing that thing. but you'll end up sounding like an SRT-4 (there i said it). well kinda like one.

Yeah there are no sensiors that far on the exsaust and yes your car will sound better.

ya, im unbolting my msp factory exhaust and selling it. I'm leaving everything stock from the downpipe to the cats. Only thing im removing from the system is the muffler so i figured with the two cats still in place it wouldnt sound obnoxious... am i wrong? I figured with the turbo and cats still there it would sound ballsy and mean..

Oh yes. It will be loud. Cat's don't do too much to the sound. It's the muffler that does most of the sound buffering. You can just unbolt it now and hear how loud that mofo is!!!

It will be very loud. Just unscrew like 2 bolts and hear how loud it is. You might loose some torque too.

it will sound like an SRT-4 i'm tellin you. kinda like one. funny sounding low drone. the turbo does a lot for sound deadening. thats why the SRT runs with no cats. its gonna rumble funny and sound like it wants to shake and spit water out. thats what i always envision when i see an srt exhaust, shaking mufflers and water dripping out.

Ok I am probably the only person that knows exactly what it will sound like as my POS borla muffler fell off!
Even with my turbo which acts as a muffler the car was WAY TO LOUD. It was anoyying as hell.
It was a very deep toen though no ricy sound at all.
