Hey to all you MSP owners out there, what is happening? Anyway, I just wanted to know what is the ideal gear to shift in while racing? Rolling at thirty.....ok well, my friend has this 65 Mustang with a 289 block in it. From what i am told is that 4 cylinders have the upperhand at a roll. Is this true? Cause i looked like an idiot when his car walked on mine. (flame2) I heard nothing but the exhaust...sounds like a fat kid farting in shallow water...he totally fried my rice! :wtf: DANG IT! Also, i think i am the first guy in this forum to wreck his MSP! :'( I wrecked it back on Jan 21st. I only had it for two weeks...yea i know...Anyway, it is fixed and is just as good as new. Well, someone tell me when is the best to shift gears! Thanks!

If you were rolling along at 30MPH, I'd shift into 2nd and floor it from there, taking her close to 'about' 6k before shifting again.

dynos say shift right before 6k.
true, b/c the power does drop off there, however, if you shift right before 6k, then you will drop out of the powerband... to low of rpms after the shift... just shift at 6500 or a little after... trust me, the power drop off is not that bad.. and after your shift, youwill still be in the powerband and hauling ass

as for the initail question, anything up to 40-45, thats second gear..

by the way, does anyone know where i can get JDM spec cams for the speed? Some guy in columbus with an orange speed bought some and i am pretty sure his car is above the ordinary....well, not until he can run 13's right?

you lost to car with way more power, even the advantage gained from a roll, you lost since his a mucg bigger, and more powerful motor! Dont sweat this loss, cuz those cars haul serious ass.
And yes, take it to about 6500 to keep it in the powerband.
