Im not sure where you got 40k plus when the car starts at 32k, but you guys keep bringing up the argument about the R32 beating the MS3 which when i originally said that the MS3 would beat it anyway.
My best friend has an R32. He paid a little over 2k more than my MS3's price for his car brand new.
the 3.2 VR6 isn't breathing very hard. It's understressed. There are a fair number of people putting some decent boost to them with stock internals and head gaskets with reliable results.
His car buries mine in fit and finish. He has a blue flame cat back, GIAC remap, and some other odds and ends. From the dig he leaves me hard. Once we get rolling I check out pretty quickly.
Both are small hatchbacks but both are different enough to have strengths and weaknesses. I am sure he's happy with his purchase just as I am happy with mine.

But my question is this? The MS3 had 264 hp and280 tq. The WRX has 224hp and 227tq. How is it that the WRX runs right with the MS3. With 40 more hp it should be quicker, plus all the torque.
I would think that the difference is the power curve. I havent really seen a dyno comparison with these two cars, but I would assume with the more displacement with the WRX as well as it being just as fast that the power curve is a lot flatter aka being in the power band longer.
Think about it- (not bashing on Hondas)- if a B16 turbo in a EK is making 280hp and 200tq at 7000rpm but only 140/140 up until then, then you have a lot of power but it's not really usable until you get up high in your RPMs.
I'd rather have 250hp from 2000rpm to 7000 rpm than 150hp from 2000-5000 and 350 from 5k-7k...
