Just wondering what everyones future plans for their P5 are going to be?

A. Simply a car to drive and enjoy for its stock value? Not really plan on anything extreme, few mods here and there.

B. Drag setup:Primary focus on the performance is for drag setup on either distance setting (1/8, 1/4 etc)

C. Track aka Road Course: Follow the setup goal of many Miata drivers and turn the P5 into a track performer? Outright straight speed is not overally a issue, instead you are focusing on the weight handling capablities lieing within the chassis.

D. Show car: Not exactly focusing on any major speed or performance other than in the flashy, or audio areas?

E. Little from a,b,c,d.

If any of those mirror your goals, what steps do you plan on doing. Course that is if your welling to share your design goals, or keep them secret and let us all watch in envy. :D

Maybe with this known we can keep in touch based on our common goals and share ideas or mistakes.

I've done the drag setups with the DSMs and not really interested in following that path again. Not completely sold on the outright drag ability of these cars yet. To me atleast that is not the major design area these cars were attend to fullfill. But hey neither are many of the cars seen at the WWIII or other import races etc...

Been around the sound setup, least in DB draging type of way. Sound quailty will most surely be improved just for personal perferences, but not a main design goal.

I'm starting to get hooked on the whole road course racing. So I'll probably start looking into this route with my P5. No complete set path I'm going to follow, but this will most likey be the outcome.

Oh so many choices to ponder over as I sit here raiding this places fridge.

Hey I warned you not to let me near it(drinks)

1: 18" Racingheart C5's
2: Eibach prokit springs/some kind of shocks
3: intake/header/exhaust
4: 50 shot of N20
5: upgrade all stock speakers/2 JL 10"s

probably e... i need ideas of WHERE to start...in a few months financial aid wil help me with some money...what should i get that DOESNT void the warranty

so far I'm on plan A: All stock. I'm leaning towards going to do exterior looks in maybe 6-8 months with some body kit. I want at least 1 year under the belt before I start messing with the car (got it last October). In its 3rd year I'll begin messing with performance mods.

I prefer getting the performance mods first but since this is my first new car, I wanted to keep it simple, and because I got the 5 year/100,000 mile warranty, I at least wanted to make use of it with out voiding anything. Me and my friend who has a '03 Tiburon discussed many performance things to do with our cars, but both agree that we need to blow the tranny first before we even put anything on the engine.

Oh and lots and lots of those red type R stickers, easy way to get 100HP!!! j/k(upyours) (blackp5)

well i would have to say d, knowing that our cars arent that quick, and knowing they look really good. so im am going with d, final answer

I don't think anyone here bought a protege5 because it was fast, we all knew that. Now why do those darn peeps with the civics and integra's keep wanting to rev up and race you when you are stopped. I've had celica's (they know they will win) and matrix's owners with more class then them (not saying peeps with integra's or civics have no class, many of my friends drive those kinds of cars).

Ever since I've had this car I've had many encounters of this kind. They rev up, and shoot out as if the booggie monster was chasing them.

LOL boogies monster, ahhh thats great for a morning laugh.

You would be suprised in what areas the P5 can pull on, but yes generally speaking it doesnt carry withit outrigth pulling power expect in a few choice rpm spots. And these spots combine with the right gear and net some decenting pulling power.

Not very useful on a straightway, but when exiting a corner can be handy. Suprised a few fellow drivers doing this, sitting steady in 2nd gear around 3.5, and easing the throttle at the exit apex. But that range quickly dies off.

;(

Its a E-racing car, much like a stock Miata. Need to keep your energy up, not relying on power to get your speed back up after cornering.

I'm keeping mine all stock, all I want is the windows tinted and a good audio system. I wouldn't have bought the car is I wanted to change the look of it with a body kit or altezza lights... if I can afford to save up some money I may get an injen CAI. But thats all i would get as of upgrade. :D

Ah, time to get used to it. When I had my civic, I'd have all sorts trying to entice me to race. On average, I had 3 races in a 15 min drive. It's a natural thing with young kids and imports. Just wait till F&F 2 comes out, everyone and their dog will take it to the street. The best thing to do is not acknowledge the other driver and pull away normally. It's a lot more of a slap in the face than beating them. Besides, I have a feeling that the cops are really going to crack down on racing/imports this summer. No need to pay tickets!

As for my plans, I want to tint the car, add new spark plug wires, and throw on a greddy Evo exhaust.

Technical 5 - Why Spool? Is it better than FM? Or just puts out more power? I've seen a couple of FM kits on miatas and I must say that they work quite well and install easy.

sorry I couldn't resist posting in here.
Read my sig.
This is just from my experience with the dealership and the problems of the car.
Before the problems I planned on doing JIC suspension all DG Motorsports carbon fiber parts and some 17" kinesis K19R (See my thread "P5 with Kinesis for a photochopped pic) Pisses me off too because I had already started buying things for it like the CF side skirts and the CF spliters and had ordered a Injen CAI. Then the problems started so I canceled my order and sold my parts. The skirts went to a guy with an MP3 and the splitters actually went to a honda guy that fabbed them onto his integra.
Well kay sa ra sa ra or however that goes. Live and learn. Now I just can't bring myself to spend any money on the car. So time to start something else.

well my wish list, and future plans include spool springs, when they get them in stock, and some dubs minus two (18's) other than that, i wont be able to afford anything else. though i do want some kind of body kit, to replace the back bumper that got scraped, the front bumper that got cracked and the side skirt that has two large black marks on them??

I am keeping my car until it dies on me... hopefully past 1,000,000 km i can get... fingers crossed.
