What are the major differences (if any) between the 06-07's and 08+ models?

So I've been looking at various performance upgrades for my "5", but everything I've found so far is for the 06-07 models. I have an 08. Are there enough differences between them (if any)? Or should I risk purchase to find out?

Thoughts?

Shop around and sit in each year model on the lots. Make note of things like Dash type, LED read out, rims, tires, arm rests, engine size, cruise control, navigation, etc. etc. NOT only is there a diff between 06/07 and the 08 model, there are TRIM Levels as well, so not all M5 will have side skirts, alloy rims, etc.

Good luck, post pictures of what you get so we can point out all the flaws, NO just kidding, and good rule of thumb, cars that are newer are supposed to be designed better/greater, not the other way around, so you'd think an 08 is better quality than a 06 or 07 (laugh)

Peace!(rei)

P.S. Sad thing is 124 other people viewed this post and had nothing to say? :0

sorry to dig up this old feller, but I have a few questions that no one really seemed to answer before. :D I've heard that the 08's went to a 5spd auto while the 06-07's have a 4spd auto. Is there a huge difference in fuel economy on these? Also, what other differences are there besides some of the minor details like rear air? I'm really curious to know, thanks.

Mine will be a 06 Touring loaded with everything that was available at the time I think except leather?

Here you go, I guess this has a good summary. This is for the US model

Awesome! Thanks! Looks like the major differences were cosmetic/comfort. Engine and suspension parts should carry over OK.

Now if we can get a list of similarities between the Mazdaspeed3 and the '5'.....

(thought)
