WANTED!!! J&S Safeguard...

Jimmy, when I talked to John from J&S, he stated that only like around 5 units were sold for the protege, so it may be hard to find a used one, Your best bet for lowest price is going to be what Turf can work up, since he knows John...

Didn't get a hold of John yesterday. I'm going to get him today hopefully and will update when I do!

Thanks,

Steve

Alrighty guys... I talked with John for a bit today and am working on some good stuff for you in the future as well as for this immediate group buy. (Possible new product etc). But for the group buy we'll be looking for 5 individuals to go with these units. I'm selling them at no profit for me, just going between for now and helping coordinate this stuff...

The price from John is 485 dollars per unit plus shipping.

I'll have the units shipped to me, and then I'll distribute to make John's life easier as well. So if you are in Wisconsin I'll end up having to charge you sales tax, but we may be able to get John to ship for you differently so I can avoid having to do that for you.

So we need to gather up five people, payment will be expected once the list is complete. I'd like to try and keep this open no longer than 2-3 weeks so that it is quick for anyone involved.

I'll post a new thread, but also monitor this one (new thread probably later today, earlier tomorrow) so feel free to start the list here and I'll carry it over and link as well.

Also, please note which of the following options you need on each unit. Lastly, if you want a knock monitor gauge I'll have to double check on the pricing for that for you but that will also likely receive a discount for the group buy.

Options:
All units will carry boost retard ability
1) Straight Mode, no midrange/rpm retard
2) Midrange RPM retard between 4000 rpm's and 5500 (may be tweaked slightly depending on JandS rpm resolution)
3) ??? I'll work with John to see what other options are available if any

I'll also post more tech info about how this device works and benefits over anything else out there as it is CONSIDERABLE when compared against things like the AEM knock control etc. Definitely is far above the rest of the field, and I vouch for it on a lot of levels and experiments which i'll explain in the other thread as well.

Thanks guys!

Steve

Holy s*** bizzump, get on this people, I already have mine, but this thing is bad ass.

I hope people realize how good and needed of a product this really is for our cars and buy one. This can truly mean the difference between by by engine and not skipping a beat...

not only is this a super-safety mod, but to me it is a performance mod as well. It will pull timing automatically, only by the cylnder or cylinders that need it and then puts it back as soon as it is safe. While other products pull across all cylinders by some form of preset fashion or they pull timing across all cylinders still reducing WHPwhen not needed...

so in that sense it is a performance mod...

As a matter of fact, I got my MPI more for safety than performance gains in the first place as well. These types of items in my opinion allow for us to use our other mods to their full potential and still have a running car when we are done...

That number has to be low:

Linux (sold his to Moeed)
Little Beavis
Turfburn
Big Timm
Apocman
Focus
Metal MP5

That's the list I know of at this point..

I don't know he wasn't being exact just kind of going off the top of his head kind of numbers.

and it more like this

Linux & CRDMS1 = bought by Apocman, I gave Moeed Patricks becuase of our turbo purchase program and Linux had the guage with the knock and AFR on it.

So I bought 2 of the original 5 :) or 7 or whatever it is.

Yeah, rough estimate... either way there are only a handful of people.. hell I think there are more Microtech's out there now than that. LOL :)

hahahahahahah!!!

well then we are the few, the proud, the safe!!!

I just thought it was worth it to buy something to assist in protecting all of that money I have been dumping into my car...

For example the other day somebody thought it would be neat to pull one of my plug wires and put it barely back on and then break my HKS SSQ BOV (they broke the little nipple that sticks out for the vac line, I mean the broke it all the way off and took part of the side casing with it!) so after that a few of us go to run our cars in a safe area just to compare and "what's this!!! Apoc is getting his ass kicked by another freinds car who is stock except for $8 homemade MBC!!! ( this guy had nothing to do with it, he is very good friend) but we both are like what the hell is going on.. I get home and start checking vac lines and notice my broke BOV go to store next day and JB weld it back together, but it took me a few days to realize my plug was pulled becuase since it was barely on there or just sitting on there it made the problem intermitten (excuse spellin) finally I find it and car runs fine, but during that one race i did hit boost for brief sec before it quickly went away, due to jacked up BOV etc... and my J&S was lighting up like a ****** christmas tree and pulling I bet the full 20 degrees, so I wondering if that may have saved my engine!!! we will never know, but I'm glad I got it and still have a running car...

and another thing that pisses me off is my children ride in my car everyday!!! and to have a asshat tear my car up becuase they are jealous and imature so they break my s***!!! so in a sense the J&S could have protected me and my family from injury or harm, becuase I have to get on a very busy freeway every morning to take them to school and I noticed those days the J&S was lighting up like a christmas tree when I was giving it gas trying to get on the freeway...

So if you people are smart you'll get ya'll one of these things!!!

Well think about blkzoomzoom's motor too.... all that money lost on the dyno... the JandS would have saved that car... I look at it as an insurance policy as well... and until more of us get better ideas of standalone timing maps, it's important to have it to get a better idea of what can be done.. Keep in mind a lot of people were initially running like 22 degrees max timing... I found with the JandS that I got up into the mid 30's without any problems... now that I'm getting my sensitivity dialed in I'm going to push up in to the 40's to see if the JandS warns me off or not... but also as the car got hot as hell on the dyno the JandS started to take over and protect against detonation that I couldn't hear either... So again, it does it's thing without question and for under 500 bucks it certainly is cheap insurance... not to mention you can use it for years and years and use it on other cars too!

I should have that other GB thread and tech thread up sometime this afternoon (less busy at work finally, so I can get to some of this stuff more!)

true!!! good to hear about the GB thread!!! It will be a shame if people don't take advantage of this, but atleast it's not my car that doesn't have one...

Scare tactics... that's what I like to see :) LOL... But seriously... once you have one you feel VERY naked without one.
