Vending belongs in the Marketplace...

but apparently, its acceptable to the forum leaders.

my issue is mainly with TWM, since they like to post the SAME friggin' product in 12 different forum sections. makes it easy to NOT find what your looking for, and easier to miss a problem or concern with a product if it happens to be posted in the thread you decided NOT to post in. i think they should get their own forum section where they can post whatever the hell they want.

but, what do i know...

According to forum rules, and the way the moderator team follows, as an authorized vendor, TWM is allowed to promote and advertise there products where ever they want.

We don't make the rules, we just enforce them, so don't shoot the messenger :P

i think its time the "Rules" were re-evaluated.

i was one of the first members here, and this forum has gotton very messy over the past couple of years. venders posting in twelve different locations only helps to "Mess" it up more.

for instance, TWM recently posted a "Friday Special" thread in the following locations:
1) Mazda Forums > Marketplace > Protege, P5, MSP & MP3 For Sale
2) Mazda Forums > Marketplace > New Gen Mazda For Sale > Mazda6 & MAZDASPEED6 (MS6)
3) Mazda Forums > Mazda Forums > Authorized Vendor Sales & GBs > Engine & Powertrain
4) Mazda Forums > New Gen Mazda Family > 2010+ Mazda3 & MAZDASPEED3 (Mazda3gen.com & MZSPD3.com) > 2010+ 3/MS3 Engine, Transmission & Drivetrain
5) Mazda Forums > Marketplace > New Gen Mazda For Sale > Miata & MAZDASPEED MX-5
6) Mazda Forums > Marketplace > New Gen Mazda For Sale > Mazda3
7) Mazda Forums > Marketplace > General For Sale > Universal Parts

they could have saved a LOT of forum space by posting one thread in the general Marketplace section, exspecially since its all the same part with no real vehicle specific application.

again, just my thoughts.

Let me just add to the vendors concerned, this is by no means disrespect to you, it is not the goal. It's just to let you know that it becomes annoying when trying to read the forums.

those are all the same product too, just labeled something slightly different to market it to a different vehicle.

ditto to this. i'm not bashing any specific vendor, just bashing the rules that allow the forum to become cluttered.

The threads are bumped twice a week, pretty annoying as a user when you go to the forum to see what the new post is, just to see it's TWM.

Can't the bumps be limited to once a week, or twice a month? And what's wrong with the banner ad?

I wasn't trying to bash or single anyone out at all. I'm not criticizing the mods. I'm not criticizing this forum. A vendor dropping by to point out that a new product is available: cool. A vendor dropping by to mention an updated product: cool. A vendor constantly posting the exact same information or bumping an old thread as a means of making sales: uncool. This is exactly why there is a Marketplace. Again, I don't want anyone to feel like I'm trying to head up a lynch mob or anything. Also, I didn't know the topic had already been played out. It's just an observation. Please don't hurt me. :)

I get what everyone is saying, and for the most part, all points are valid. As moderators, we don't have much control when it comes to making rules. As stated earlier, we only enforce them.

The admins have been notified of this thread and the complaints, so for now I am going to lock this, but leave it visible. If anybody has anything else to say, I suggest directly PM'ing an admin since they are the ones that can make a change.

Thanks for the input everyone. (2thumbs)
