Doesn't anyone actually look at the Owner's Manual anymore?

Has anybody ever? :)

My old camry seemed to knock with 87, but I think it needed a tune-up real bad or something. Got 35mpg pretty easily though. :)

I run the cheapest 87 octane gas I can find in my ES. It hasn't skipped a beat in the 43K miles that i've owned it. Anything higher is just a waste especially with the recent gas prices.

Thank you so much fastdrvr23!!!
nice records~ ;)

Your welcome. :)

It's sort of weird, I am almost O.C.D. like when it comes to my car... but with everything else, I am pretty laid back... strange stuff.

You ought to see my maintenance log book, it would be too much typing to make a web-page with that thing. ;)

the only cars you need to run 91 octane or above are older cars with well over 100,000 miles on it just to keep the car performing properly. Our car are brand new and advanced in technology that using the minimun octane will guarantee great performance

My Protege 5 pings and smells funning using 87 oct. Oh thats right my computer has been reflashed. I got 38 mpg on 104 oct fuel. I ran a 16.124 @ 84 mph.
