USA Today article..

Dear James R. Healey,

I read your review of the MAZDASPEED Protege, and was disappointed in the review. You seemed to 'bash' the car because it's targeted at an age group that is not yours. You comment on the flashy styling inside and out of the car, from the stereo faceplate to the evo style rear wing. If you don't want these things get a regular Protege ES or something, and if you want the power without the flash, get the 6. You say it's jerky when parking, with the no gas to gas hiccup, well, i don't understand this, as I park it without this problem, and I just learned how to drive a stick. Again, if you don't like the stick, get a different car. My point is, you were a little hard on the car, what you should realise is that this car was directed to a younger age group than yours, and towards us kids who look for the car that are flashy, and at time gaudy, with the loud stereos and fast engines. The car is not for everyone, and I think you should ponit out some of the positives of the car, like the extremely good handling(it takes the emergeny lane change 1mph slower than a Porsche 911), or the quality of the car and the service provided by Mazda. Too bad you have to be so negative, check out www.msprotege.com, then you will realise how much the car is appreciated by those who own it, and drive it daily.

This si my e-mail to the b@st@rd, i would have been harsher, but then he wouldn't listen to me, the young punk b@st@rd who doesn't constanly smell like bengay, and doesn't have to get his kids to change his diapers every couple o' minutes...HA!!! stick that in you pipe and smoke it you old b@st@rd!!!!
