Yes Shawn you certainly can remove the whole roof rack. I'm assuming you bought the car new. If that is the case, you should have also gotten 4 flat black panels (2 for each side) that fit in the holes where the roof rack is attached. It is a very simple quick switch to make. If you did not get these I would go back to the dealer and tell them you want them.
Personally, I think the roof rack looks good since it has such a low profile. But everyone has different tastes and they are noisy at highway speeds. Let us know what you find out from your dealer.
We don't? Strange - I was sure my dealer offered it to me for around $140 when I bought the car. But I agree, if someone in the US doesn't want theirs, I'm sure someone in Canada would be willing to at least pay for shipping...
i agree that the roof rack doesn't look that bad...i do really like the look of the car with it on...not to mention it's usable...the only really reason i took it off is because it's too darn loud when driving at high speeds...you'd be surprised how fast you get annoyed with it...
as far as getting the tracks off too...i think you may have to go to the dealer for that...there are some bolts that attach it to the roof...i remember somebody said they had to take it in to get it taken off...then they had to replace the rubber stripping on top...sounded like a lot of work just to remove the tracks...good luck
