Ever since i installed my boost controller I have noticed kind of a funny rattle sound once I hit 4000 rpms. I was just wondering if this is the turkey sound everyone is talking about?

Hey Lloyd Christmas (God! That was a funny-ass movie)! The turkey sound (blow off valve sound), you will hear between shifts.

Wow...these here turkey threads are getting too insane. Read some of the other one's dude...it's the bpv; when you step off throttle and go to shift you close the throttle body. The compressed air wave rebounds and heads back to the turbo...you need a way to vent this or you'll do damage. soo...the bpv lets off the excess boost and sends it back to the intake. I'm not sure why, yet, but the release causes a certain kind of *ffftttrrrrr* sound that I have yet to hear on any other turbo automobile.

what kind of rattle sound exactly? does it sound like something is knocking against something repeatedly? also, does it rate of the noise increase with the rpms?

Striker187 - it does sound like a repeated knocking and does get louder as my rpm's increase. it also sounds like it is coming from the passenger side. I have no idea what it is

Definately NOT the turkey...there's a few threads about the noise you're talking about, but I'm not sure if anyone figured out what it is.

that wasn't the thread where a line was loose, or came off was it? you better get that checked out....never ehard a turkey knocking, only gobbling

Should I start a new one about it? :D

Kenetix...people just arent' reading throught the other ones enough to be informed about it, me thinks. This one is a legit problem, though...so we can let it slide can't we?

Ever sence I installed my MBC I have had a simular noise as well. Mine is better described as a growl than a rattle. It sounds like the sound is under the hood most times, but sometimes it sounds as if it is comming from the exhaust end... I dunno, but it happens the loudest in second gear just after it starts to go into boost (around 4-7 psi range). I still dont know what it is yet, but the MBC is comming off tomorrow because I got to take the car back to the dealer for a blown sub (2nd time blown, and both times with amp set to 1/4 gain :wtf: ). Once I take it off I will listen for it to see if it is still there. If so, then I will have the dealer take look at it. I just hope the dealer dont give me to much s*** about the Injen CAI! I am not going to go through all that work again just for a peice of s*** sub.

I am going strapped, just incase he starts get'n all frisky about the CAI... (getsome) And he dont want me to call my old man down there... He is a highly decorated ex postman! :D
