turbo on mp3

It would be easy and reliable on a well takin care of car. Mine was poorly takin care of. Idk why you guys are bashing him on turbo ing his car. If he wants to do it he will and it will do fine as long as he does everything properly. If you want to say he will blow it up no matter how he runs it or anything then you are ignorant and should quit posting

Nobody bashed him at any point, nor did anybody say it would blow up no matter what. But it is very likely, and IMO a risky venture. He should at least be prepared for the possibility, even if it ends up working well for him.

Im pretty sure i can run the msp stock boost with the right supporting mods. I think im gonna shoot for that. I dont want it to take it to the track or race it on the streets it just gonna be a daily driver i just want a turbo to have a little more fun with it and better response. If any one can point out some good supporting mods would be great. I found the stock msp turbo for sale. Comes with stock ecu manifold turbo fmic piping oil return and feed lines and pan. Im pretty sure i would need new injectors fuel pump. Anything im missing?

We use the same injectors and fuel Pump. I would suggest the ssafc by far the best thing you can have. Btw you say you won't be racing it on the streets or runing it hard but I said the same thing about my 323

Ok so ive been doing some research and i found some wiseco pistons. At horsepowerfreaks.com couldnt find much specs on them anyone know if there good? How much hp or boost they handle? Also would i need a new or forged crank too?

crank is already forged. Check out speed circuit or other vendors on the forum for internals for our car. If you are sure you want to go through with boosting your car, just do what has already been said and get the ssafc since the kit you are interested in already has the MSP ECU. Your car will last as long as you don't go boost crazy and floor it from light to light all day every day. It's all in the tune. Some cars on here have ran for a few years on stock internals, T28 turbo, 14 pounds(with meth injection though) and a solid tune.

Ok thanks much. Just that im sketchy about it since its my only car and its a daily i dont want to blow the. Engine either. And since i dont know anything about this stuff thats why im asking. Does anyone know a good shop in cali that has done this kind of work on this car so i can get a good tune. Also at a decent price because i went to ask at a shop and they told me 6000. And thats over my budget.

If its your only car don't do it. If your looking at forging you need rods more than pistons.

Get a 2nd car before you start modding one

since you are in Cali, you may want to make sure you don't get popped during emissions. It would suck to boost your car and then have to demod it

tell that to all the MSP guys that have holes in their block. MSP has a knock sensor, too.

i'd rather have a tune to prevent knock, than rely on a knock sensor to pull timing. it only takes one good pre-detonation event on boost to blow a rod.

^ that

there is nothing wrong with running low boost depending on mileage. i am pushing 2.5 psi out of a sc, but i am flowing more air than a factory msp. its about airflow, not pressure. but i am making close to 200 whp at only 2.5 psi. i keep side by side with a msp at 7psi with an intake, fmic, 3 inch exhaust, thunder turbo mani, and 626 intaake mani. and i started boosting at 165000 miles.

^^^ A bit misleading....

It is about "Flow" to a point, but Psi has a direct link to Volume (Until the turbo works harder than its design limit)

psi is the closest way to gauge airflow but anyone knows that 10psi out of a gt25 is different than 10psi out of a gt3076r.

using psi is still not a perfect way to measure the amount of air that forced induction is putting into the motor.
