"DaimlerChrysler’s internal debate over whether to supercharge or turbocharge the PT Cruiser is decided: Look for a turbo version of the stock 150-hp, 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder to debut in 2002. As previously reported, the turbo PT will likely be dubbed GT Cruiser.
Company officials confirm that a turbo PT Cruiser will hit the streets before another as-yet-unspecified production model appears in spring 2003 powered by the same engine. The turbo engine produces as much as 215 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque (vs. 162 lb-ft normally aspirated)."
