TurBo IdLe

terryy!!!! i need some help too man, it would be co0L if i could buy anything to get my ride pumpin and killing some wrxs, civics, etc. theres a weird noise that seems to be coming from the turbo, or just an exhaust leak. but when i go to wot, the a/f meter goes straight to lean. you know what could be happening??? if i could give you a call or something maybe you could listen to whats happening with my car. thanks as always man.

Terry, the inline pump is in place and I still am stoichiometric at WOT. WTF. Arrghh. . .

I guess we'll be talking again soon. . .

Re: lean side
listen i think i may know why you are having this problem.
and the good news is it may not be a problem
you see the A/F meter you said gets its reference from the stock o2 sensor inline
well if thats the case then if the voltage clamp that spoolin sold you is also on the same o2 then you are reading the same as what your ecu is reading
so in other words what you want to happen in the system IS happening the way it is suppossed to be.
youneed to check fuel pressure like i said before to confirm this andto really confirm it you need a different feed to reference from like a seperate wideband 02 just for the purpose of seing what A./F ratio you are REALLY running

hope this helps if it doest sorry i tried!!

okay, well i fixed the low idle loop, and the car idles sweet at a stand still when started, but now sometimes i get a high idle (1500-2000 rpm) when coming to stops. sometimes i get it, sometimes i dont. and that damn sound is still there, i tightened all the bolts by the turbo and manifold, maybe i have to loosen the exhaust manifold and re-adjust the metal gasket thing in the back of the manifold. wish me luck!

Hmmm. . .interesting thought, but wouldn't the voltage clamp be modifying the signal it receives only? I can't image that a signal is sent back to the O2 sensor and picked up by the A/F. I have my tap for the A/F right at the sensor and the voltage clamp is on the ECU.

Anyway, I ordered a new EGT and fuel gauge (and matching boost gauge because I have to have them match), so hopefully the new Greddy gauges will help me to isolate the problem. Until then it is still light on the throttle driving for me. But when you get heavy on the foot, the thing does move!

If its connected after the voltage clamp and not before it then I would think it would be cuasing an issue.
