has anyone heard anything about a turbo awd p5 in japan?

some japanese dude told me about it

I assume you are takling about the Sport 20? What do you want to know about it?

i wish someone with lots of money would get the ball rolling and try this project, to import all the parts for AWD from japan and see if it is possible.

that japanese guy just told me that it was awd and had a 1.8t, so im not sure if its stock. but i do know that the atenza(mazda6) has awd in japan.

i want someone to bring those parts here too, but then again i also want a talking taco that craps ice cream.
Uclap5 knows what i mean:)

I hear corksport can do it....hmmmmmmmm

while emptying your wallet to the last penny!!

Most likely it is feasable, BUT since our car is FWD there is likely no space for the driveshaft to go to the rear wheels, which means redoing the whole floor pan... other than that the rear suspension and stuff would probably fit with little modification, while the front possibly would remain unchanged. That is something I would really like to try, if I had over 10K to spend....

i cant remember correctly, but for some reason i heard somewhere somtime possibly that the floorpan doesn't need extensive modification. (hows that for no confidence in my memory:) )

I thought the japanese sport 20 had awd + the 2.0l with high comp, no butterfly, etc.

Your friend could be talking about the old 323 GTX though, which is turbo AWD, and kicks ass.

A talking taco that craps ice cream, how about Earth as a reality TV show. I hope they never know that we know and blow us up

corksport wanted about 7 grand to import all the parts for the all wheel drive system when i emailed them about a year ago it might be cheaper now i haven't checked

SOUTHPARK EPISODE!!! FUNNY AS HELL... " I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAD YOUR GARGLEMEN IN MY MOUTH... YEAH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT EITHER"....LOLOLOLOL!!!

yeha, the sport20 is pimp but not turbo.

awd, 2.0L,....about 170 hp compared to our wussy "130hp" which is actually a very high estimate, lol.

jdm is so great....

yep, corksport can do it. pricey and complicated and if you engine troubles that require new parts good luck getting em.

I saw an FS-ZE (J-Spec 170hp)engine on Ebay for 1500 bucks about three weeks ago. Damn! I wanted that motor! I hear it's a direct swap with our P5 engine.

I don't think its as big off an install as it seems. I've done a lot of research for this mod and from what I can tell there won't be any floor pan modifications. The engine/transmission is a direct drop in. The major changes are the completely custom exhaust, new gas tank and the possibilty of some mounting points needed to be welded to the floorpan for driveshaft supports and differential supports. As soon as I can get the money up, this is my next mod. I should have a Pro Mazda how-to coming sometime in the fall. I wish I was rich so I could havew this done by NOPI, but it will just have to wait.

As someone who had the FS-ZE, I know that you would also need the OBD-I ECU to get that power out of the FS-ZE engine. My dyno with the MP3 ECU landed me at 120 HP and 121 TQ. Nothing to write home about.
