I will be there. Just come watch its still fun and free. Bring sunscreen. Standing on a concrete pad in the summer makes a day at the pool a walk in the park.
I dont know that I will. I could spend 1500 on a set of stickies and rims (stock size) to stay in stock class and be competitive, but other than that I cant do a heck of a lot.
I may eventually buy a dedicated rwd car for autocrossing that I can mod (a mx5 or mustang, maybe even an rx8) BUT...that wont be in the immediate future.
My immediate money waster is because Im also a gran turismo nut (I like need for speed shift on pc as well) and Im seriously debating finishing my garage so I can build a dedicated sim cockpit (which after a 2nd ps3 and another lcd tv will get costly as well).
Ive already got a ps3 and a 42" downstairs (as well as a gaming pc and a 23" lcd)...just have a small table in front of it and i want something a little more realistic.
Problem is I have to basically finish a garage from the studs before i could put something that expensive inside it ;-)
yes...you can drive it, hell, I preordered gran turismo 5...anyones welcome to come play.
dude definitely have me over lol, is there such thing as a steering wheel controller with a clutch pedal? ive not seen like an actual realistic stick shift driving game
Yes The logitech g25's and g27's have shifters and clutches but you can buy and rig up aftermarket shifters made from real parts. I have a logitech driving force gt, shifter isnt ideal but its a good wheel.
Click here for a video I took on my droid of me doing a lap of road america with need for speed shift...knowing gt5 is going to be more realistic than this makes me giddy.
Ill probably buy either a racing seat or go to a junk yard and buy a really good condition seat from a rx8\vette or something sporty and basically build around that. I cleaned out my garage today so I can start seeing what I need to do.
