well...don't think the wrx came from the factory with xenons like your gt did, for starters
but if that's not important to you:
the 09 is when they finally put some balls back in the wrx instead of having to go all the way up to the sti. that year they went from the previous 227 or whatever to 265. technically not as much as the ms6, but damn near close. however, the torque doesn't touch the ms6, as it only had 244. not only that, the wrx is actually faster than the sti in 0-60 and 1/4 mile, mostly due to the 5speed of the wrx instead of the 6speed sti
the other thing is you'd be getting a hatch. as for versatility, your sedan just is no match for a hatchback. that's one thing i found out when i went from a mz3 sedan to an ms3
