does par make a syncromesh gear set?

The cup reinforcement from PAR....paired with cryo'd gears and synchros should be a strong tranny. If only you could get this done at ONE vendor instead of shipping gears to one place and tranny casings to another.......hmmm.

Cryo-treating gears/synchros/shift forks would cost about $150-$200, PAR reinforced cups are $800, shipping about $150......so $1000+/-. then reassembly, considering if you can do it yourself, would be free.....or another $500.

I wonder it that is an option, or if it will hold anymore power?

i dont care what it costs. they do make a syncromesh set. double syncro with needle bearings helical cut.

well they are straight cut 1-4 but w/e. 4500 with options. if it will reliably hold 400hp and not blow up on me then so be it. if im going to do it, im gonna do it right.

Well if you are dead set on going with PAR, then do it I say. If I remember, you are forging your motor right now anyways, so you will be set with a full PAR set. Do it

Yep ill have the engine back tomorrow or Friday. I'm not completely set on PAR but they seem to be the best. Open to other routes though for the trans

well someone calculated it with all the fluid changes and it comes out to like a few grand a year for the average driver lol

$1000 worth of Neo Gear Oil would be 26 oil changes a year if you drove 78k miles.

Also Hondaeat-R I believe had an older PAR gearset which used a different alloy as well as the 3rd gear I destroyed recently. They are using a new material now that is supposedly far superior to all their priors.

Luckily I only put about about 5k miles a year on my car being 2miles from work

And look better doing it!!

For a few hundred yards, maybe. Then your pistons will ventilate your engine block. Just in case...

EDIT: To the OP, I'd keep the MSP. It's prolly paid for and no dealership is going to give you anything for it. Plus it's ten years old; they don't really build cars like it anymore. Most of today's cars are heavier and softer and more refined. That's what I appreciate most about the MSP; it's "unrefinement". Passengers hate it, but to an enthusiast, it's engaging.
