svt focus or msp??

MSP

all I have to say is, ITS A DAMN FORD WHAT ARE YOU THINKING
MSP .88g
Focus .78g (around there)

stay away from ford compact cars, they are s***, the only good product line they have is their truck line.

yeah I know yadda yadda Ford owns Mazda, but as it stands, Ford has yet to screw up the protege line, they have left Most of Mazda alone because Mazda does a much better job IMO of building cars

to answer the ORIGINAL question; the Mazdaspeed Protege handles statistically better in every category (ie - skidpad, lane change high speed, stopping distance, body roll, etc.) Sport Compact Car has rated the MSP hands down as being the "best handling front wheel drive car ever produced." If that's not high praise then I don't know what is.

to go along with the quality question; the Ford Focus (as sold in the United States) is statistically one of the flimiest, cheapest built and faultiest vehicles on the road. Check with the National Highway Safety and Transportation Admin; you'll find a slew of technical service bulletins, warnings and recalls. Simply not a good car, devoid of any sense of lasting build quality.

stay away with ford explorer too haha

basiclly, just stay away from all ford model because they are so bad.

It is kind of a toss up right now. The newer SVT Focus set one of the fastest slalom times=72mph. Skid pads don't always provide a concrete indication of handling. Course neither do slalom times. But overall the SVT DOES handle very close and if not slightly better than the MSP in most situations. Almost just as fast, without the addition of a turbo.

Course waiting to test drive a SVT to fully see the difference.

And psst ford quality has become much much better. I can find complaints about Ford and complaints about Mazda. Sometimes people just get bad luck with cars. But overall I do like the Mazda build more.

I am just disapointed that they didin't change the look of the focus! All they do is add an SVT badge basically! At least the Neon had some body and interior changes to it.
But I wouldn't buy either one. I would luv to have a MazdaSpeed but saving $3K and having the option to add a turbo later to a P5 is keeping me from doing so. Plus the Spicy Orange could be better, and I would never own a black car. I better buy a P5 soon cuz' I might change my mind once the Yellow MSP comes out....
