sub in my 5

git 'er done. Space might be really tight but if you place it properly, there's a good probability that it may fit. You do realize what's underneath, right? I've looked into that space and like that even with the bench folded, there's a good 1" or so of space for the speaker to protrude. It's the bottom tht's the concern and if you are willing to take out the spare mind as well use the whole space.

Fuel Tank is there, The seat is only 5 inches thick at the sides and less than 2" in the middle so you will loose the use of the seat for sure, and/or get into some pretty crazy fabrication.

Try the spare tire well.

The round retainer thing in the middle can be removed and then you have a bigger space to work with.

you sure the Protege5 and Mazda5 have the same back seat and spare tire well?

Ok now I know why it hasn't been done, when the seats are folded the seating part comes all the way down to floor. sorry guys should have checked that first before posting.
