I have stoptech street performance pads on my car, and one of the pads on the front just wore down to the wear indicator. The thing is, it doesn't have a normal indicator that is embedded in the pad and starts to squeal when the pad is down low...there's a piece of metal that is attached to the caliper backing plate (kindof looks like a bracket) and it scrapes the rotor. But, it looks like I still have 1/4 of the pad left...it's kindof frustrating thinking that I need to either change the pads early or tear up my rotor. Anyone run into this scenario before? I was thinking about grinding down the wear indicator with a dremel enough to allow for the pad to wear down a little more.
