Stock Amp/Sub Is It Suppose To Rattle?

:
2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
My sub has been working great so far, I have been really happy, up till tonight... Basically when the sub hits there is a horrible rattle coming from the sub or inside the sub enclouser. Has anyone else heard this, I know a couple people have blown there subs, is this the same thing? Also does anyone have any actuall written proof that there is a defect with it so that I don't have to hassle with the dealership and can just flat out prove to them that there is a problem?

how is the rattle from outside, I seldom turn up the stereo and listen from outside?

On some songs where the bass hits hard and there's not a lot of other noise, I can hear a faint knocking sound like the sub is hitting something, but it doesnt happen that often and only occurs if I turn up the bass a bit...I dont know if its a problem, but it is just an 8in in a mediocre box. I'm not an audiophile but for a stock system it still sounds good...

I opened my trunk and leaned in and right as the bass hits you can hear the rattle coming straight from the sub/amp box. Trust me it's not the license place.,

hey, mine did that. I grabbed a spare piece of carpet, but you could probably sacrifice carboard, and put it on the passenger side where the box meets the top of of the trunks compartment. You may have to pull down on the box to get enought room. Plus it saved me a trip to the dealer.

hey its my first time on msprotege. well your problem is the surrounding on the speaker has come apart from the rest of the speaker. just remove the speaker from the encloser and super glue the surrouding back together and let it sit for an hour or so.
