Steering noise

Has anyone had steering issues with 2009 Mazda 6.

I recently noticed a creaking sounds while turning left or right typically
heard when parking and when outside noise is relatively quiet.

The vehicle has 12k miles on it.
I took it to the dealer today and the claim it is normal.

can you explain the noise some more? creaking? just a quick creak? all the time under those conditions?

i have and 04 3 and mine makes noise to when i turn i belive that we just have noisey power steering pumps and thats what we have to live with i dont really like it so if you find what makes it noisey let us know thanks

if you open a door which wasn't lubricated it is like that sound but much more subtle. It isn't loud at all. I have a Honda and Mitsubishi and the steering is solid on both vehicles and I couldn't replicate the noise with those vehicles. I took the tech out for a ride and he heard it but says it is normal. Occasionally I will feel and slight rotational tap through the column when making a turns as well not sure it that is related. Axle? It is one of things annoying and in the back of your mind.

Go back to the dealer & have them find a vehicle of same type & take it for a drive to duplicate the same sound if has they say it is normal ,if u do not hear it on any other car ,then have them replace the steering rack assembly if under warranty ,that is where your problem is ,note if it is normal then it would be there from new not 12k miles down the road.

My '08 has somewhat of a Pop sound when slowly turning, or when turning the wheel stationary. Never heard a creaking sound; I'd take that to the dealer bro.
