Hey...just wondering...since Spool systems have an external wastegate, it just dumps out exhaust under the hood, right?

Has anyone easily remedied this by having an exhaust shop make the pipe go into the exhaust somehow? Pics? Price?

Actuall, you both are right in a way. You can have it vent to the atmosphere or you can have a pipe made that dumps it back into the exhaust system after the turbo. If you like a loud mean popping sound, vent it to the atmosphere, if you like clean sound, vent it into the exhaust system. You will probably pay about $200 or $250 in parts and labor to vent it to the exhaust.

Ok, cool. just trying to figure out what I need the exhaust shop to do/how much it will cost when I have it done, assuming I go with Terry's kit.

So so far it looks like...

2.75" turbo back exhaust
HKS muffler
The O2 sensor re-mounted
the external wastgate mated into the exhaust
Some kind of cat?

So grand total I'm looking at what...$800-900??? Is there anything else I'm missing here?

You're dumping your wastegate to atmosphere? I would not exactly recommend this for a street car due to sheer volume levels. It's not cool loud, it's painful loud.

We have our race car set up that way and you can hear it wherever it's on the track...

Yeah and your point is! I have it like that and its the s***! Everybody runs away when they hear me coming down the street...

Geez pal...calm down.

Keith was just saying what he thought.

If you like a noisy car, more power to you.

Listen...... pal! I was just saying what I thought! Got it!:D

I saw a cooler thing than just venting under the hood. It was a divorced waste gate that went into a motor cycle exhaust and came out by the front left wheel. It sounded cool too

You are forgetting, the more illegal it is, in a way cops normally don't crack down on, the cooler. I think it's retarded how when I asked racing beat if they were gonna make a more aggressive sounding exhaust muffler, perhaps in a smaller can, they simply replied, "No, that would make it louder".... apparently they just don't get it, crazy old people. :D

spoolinmp3...

In your earlier posts, before you had the stage1 up on your website, you said it would use the mitsu 16g which has an internal wastegate. What happened to that plan? And wouldn't people ordering your kit just be able to switch out to the mitsu 16g for little to no difference in price? I think I remember seeing you say that in one of your posts for the starter kit.

So no one can answer my ? here?

Ben, what's so much better about the 16G?

It's auch better design than the T3. It has better compressor maps too. It's just more efficient that the T3.
