Small MP5 stereo installation :)

Awsome install, Awsome components. Where did you have the system done?

hey man....damn nice install thats probably the cleanest install i've seen yet on a p5. One question...or favor to ask actually, I've been trying to make my own dash plates for mounting a 1 din radio and i'm not having too much success. The question is could you either ask the guy that made your dash panel to give me some dimensions and mounting methods he used...the mounting method is kind of limiting me at this point, or give me an estimate on making one similar to yours?

It looks like to me that the installer just used a mounting kit and trimmed it in carbon fiber look plastic. You can buy those types of materials at www.selectproducts.com They have a lot of great install accessories there. Even if you think you cannot do a lot of things, when you have the right tools/materials, you can accomplish a lot.

Good luck
Griff

Actually it is a pocket (available thru select and others) and the trim piece from the Alpine stereo, then everything was trimmed in carbon fiber.

That's pretty similar to what I am going to have done.

I am going with the Apline 7995 head unit and JL audio components up front and JL Audio in the rear doors, Alpine Amps. I already have my custom enclosure and an eDesigns woofer. Can't wait to hear it all together.

Perhaps I am simplifying things... but wouldn't it be easier to find the kit that mazda uses for the kenwood in the mp3? I'm almost sure it would be a perfect fit for the p5. :)

And yeah that is a KICK ASS job, and nice job on the internal trims too. And I want my panel lighting to be blue also !!! :'(

The wiring kit is terrible for the MP3 and alreay replaced by Metra and other pruducts other then that it just a pocket for the dash and that has been covered by metra.
