sir nuke - wiring kit?

sir nuke - wiring kit? also - fuse size??

im gonna order a amp wiring kit along with my amp either today or tomorrow, which kit did you use? i cant seem to find one with all the right stuff in it (ie., 8g power cable, 30A fuse). thanks!

edit: is 30 amps the correct fuse size? its what alpine reccomends, i think, but every kit i see with 8 GA power wire comes with a larger fuse. why?

Even a 50 amp fuse is fine. It doesn't really matter that much. If you like get the kit then buy a few 30's and keep the one that came with it as a back up.

all right i found a kit with a 40A fuse that im going to use. i have another question though, directed towards nuke: how much length of speaker wire did you use? i just realized its going to be a hell of a lot since i have to have 4 strands from the HU, then 4 strands back. it could be expensive  but i dont want to buy more than i need. any advice?

Monster cable makes a Set of wire that has 9 internal conductors so you have one overall wire that will carry all the speaker wires to the amp then just one more back to the radio. Tweeters carring it now. 10 ft each way would be my guess.

While you guys are talking speaker wire. how much wire is needed to feed all four speakers from the amp under my seat. and what gauge should i rewire them with. I was thinkin about 40ft and 14gauge. i could be totally off, im not really into the system thing. Also i already posted this, but what kind of sub should i get to run off the 5th channel. I am looking for something not too big that will replace the bazoka tube i got now. Should i just go to tweeter and pic up a pre-made box/sub?

under 50 watts rms and your good with 16 guage, over 50 watts and you should be at 14 guage over 150 watts and 12 guage would be good. these are ruff estimates. www.mobileaudio.com might have more info in the FAQ section. I have moster cables best 14 guage going into my doors which has a plastic center to bulk up the wire to a 12 guage girth.

does anyone else find it amusing that nuke hasnt even touched this forum yet? The questions are pretty much answered already.

ok im done here. ;)

I answer questions for him so he can keep his eyes on more important matters.

all right, that 9 wire cable looks awesome, just what i need. so should i get 20 ft: 10 from HU to amp and 10 back? also, do you know if crutchfield has this in stock? i already have two internet orders to two different sites, i really dont want to go for a third, and the audio places around here generally suck. any ideas?

PS: sorry about directing the questions towards nuke, i just thought hed have the best answers since he did almost the exact same setup im doing. everybody and anybody's answers and help are welcome :)

ah yes of course. nukes faithful sidekick saves the day while nuke fights the evil powers elsewhere. good episode.

They might I don't think they carry mutch Monster cable car audio cable though.

can you order from tweeter online? it would just be much easier if i could order this wire somewhere online so i didnt have to go roam the city or call up a bunch of different places, especially if this wire is hard to find
