I've been looking around places like Crutchfield for simple speaker upgrades for my 2013 Touring speakers. The stock ones just miss a little clarity (even with the side mirror tweeters) so I thought about just changing out the 4 main speakers with some slightly better ones and wanted to know which ones people have been using and how easy is it to get the door panels off to make a switch. I plan to keep the OEM headunit for now, just looking for some slightly better speakers (less than $100 per pair) to replace the OEM ones.

Does Crutchfield send instructions on removing the door panels? I have some of the spare "christmas tree" clips in case I break some.

This is my biggest gripe with my car. The stock speakers are almost unlistenable IMO.

I think the OEM H/U doesn't put out much power per channel so you may need to think about installing an amp to push the new speakers as well.

I bought 2 pairs of these:

They sound pretty awesome, but I do have an aftermarket stereo installed so I can't comment on how they would sound with the stock HU.

If you order from Crutchfied they will send a how-to sheet to take the panels off. The rear speakers are in the cargo area and a bit more involved to swap out.
This thread has the install sheet you can download:
