Sick if this is true

I woke up in a pretty good mood, then i see something like that and i swear i could get in a plane and find those stupid a$$holes and just kill them one by one until i got killed, i think it would be worth it.

I've seen this before....yes, it is true. It was in the globe and mail. Sick people...just sick!

that sick. but there are sick people every where on this earth. But in the US we call them Demacrats!! LMAO!!!!

:bs:

i'm going to have to call BS on that photo. i have a degree in religious studies, so i think i am qualified for this one. (finally, i can contribute!!!) first off, those are sikh headdresses, not muslim. and if anyone knows anything about religion, sikhs are in no way shape or form related to islam. they actually came out of india and are actually very pro-american. someone just found a picture of some people wearing some attire that resembles islamic dress and imported the other part of the picture. the only people who will create such a thing are muslim fundamentalists (a term that in itself is problematic, but we won't get into that right now), and if you know muslim fundamentalists, their women will not be dressed like that.

here's what i think could have happened: a photographer came across the sandcastle thing and took a photo of it. then he went either online or even in his own archive and spliced the two images together.

or better yet, there was this photo floating around the internet of the sandcastle by itself. someone then added the sikhs in the background to add visual stimulation.

in both cases, they got the wrong group of people in the shot. to average americans, a "towel head" is a "towel head"... no distinction is made. and i think that's where people's ignorance can be very destructive.

Sir Nuke and YellowBaggedP5, if you were to go and do what you suggest should happen to these people, you might want to hit up california, as there is a huge sikh population there. if you go to india, you might have a harder time finding the sand because of its thick jungles and tropical forests.

sure, there could be some really radical extremists in the sikh religion as there is in all religion. but those radicals are not anti-american. they are anti-hindu. and the last time i checked, america was not a hindu state.

The sandcastle could have been a memorial or something.

Either way, I initially thought the pic was chopped, and still maintain that.

Plus tonka brings up some good points.

Holy SCHITT.

Good stuff to know. Nice to have a verified turban reader on board:D .

Honestly though nice info. I agree we all to commonly forget that islam is only a fraction of the relegious beliefs in the middle east.

On a different note I was at a white water rafting camp and I offered a guy from india and his wife suasage and eggs. How pissed do you think they were, although they seemed not upset. Once I realized what i had done i felt really friggen stupid.

yes, cows are sacred... but depending on the "type" of hindu, dietary habits can range from not eating cows to being completely vegan. there is a small group of hindus who go so far as to sweep the ground in front of them before they walk so they won't accidentally kill the little critters that might be walking in front of them. although seemingly extreme, this is the basic tenet of hinduism in its purist forms. a hindi must respect all forms of life. sikhism is an ancient offshoot of hinduism with a monotheistic rather than polytheistic belief system. they, too, however, believe in the preservation of life and the respect of all people's beliefs. that's why i really doubt that picture is for real.

in the middle east, islam is the dominant religion (except israel, of course). in all arab countries, however, there are small enclaves of christians and jews. yet within islam itself, there are two major factions, shi'ites and sunnis. now emerging is an ultra-radical form of sunni muslims (osama bin laden and yasser arafat's fatah movement) who believe that the incursions by jews on palestinians and the ongoing support from the united states for people they consider "the enemy" as reason for aggressive and proactive offensive countermeasures. they also claim that american interests in saudi arabia has polluted and desacralized mecca and medina, the two sacred cities of the muslim faith. (then there's jerusalem, and everyone claims jerusalem).

so yeah, if anyone else has any questions or any comments on religious tensions mounting around the world, let me know. sociology of religion was my emphasis, so all this stuff is right up my alley.

Please if you happen to be offended by my response because you belong to one of the groups that Tonkabui mentioned, I appologize, so ....let me clarify something...

If I found ANY group of people, be they white, red, brown, purple, green or yellow. Wearing turbins, brets, tophats or ski masks standing around thinking something like that was funny or in any way showing any disrespect for the happening and those that died there.....I would toss the same granade.

oh yeah and something else.....Tonkabui, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Legal schmegal!:p

Oh yeah welcome to the board tonkabui...Feel free to contribute whatever you like.

I can say that see, I'm not a mod and have no control over other peoples posts...HAHA

And thanks for the clarification in the above mentioned picture. A little education can go a long way sometimes.

That picture if it is fake.

And the sand castle is not. It is still messed up.
No one has a right to take people lives.
It is one thing if there is a war and a soldier gets killed or dies.
That is still wrong. But when you take planes and fly them into building ,because your a spoiled brat, and your daddy let the USA land there planes in your land, and you threw a sissy fit and you dad kicked you out , does not give you the right.
The point is this, there is good and bad in all makes and creeds. All back rounds.
Does being different mean that youre bad no. But to kill people and threaten people lives because youre a spoiled brat is. So do I get a little uneasy when I see people of certain culture yes. Is this wrong no. It was really bad that day up here, I will never forget it. Lost friends and lost normal lifes up in NY NJ Connt.

let me clarify also

thank you for the warm welcome, sir nuke and stutters c!

i, too, think that the terrorist acts that have devastated our country and has led us to a constant state of alert (read war) is in no way condonable or acceptable. whoever made that sand castle SHOULD be shot if they made it to poke fun of or make light of the severity of that day. or, better yet, bury them in sand and stone them to death and then have someone else make a sand sculpture of what happened.

zg77_ozz,
i'm not trying to flame you or even counter your point, as i believe that everyone is entitled to how they feel, act, live, etc. but you have to keep in mind that the last time something like this happened was in oklahoma city, and in that terrorist attack, they were homegrown white boys who were dissatisfied with the government. and in that case, many many kids were killed. i still remember that shot of the firefighter carrying out a bloody child. so in your rationale, you should be weary of white people as well. my point is not you are wrong, or i am right, but rather, you must remember that the people who did this represents but the smallest fraction of the culture and heritage as a whole. sure, terrorist cells still exist in this country. they are probably planning their next big attack as we sit here and discuss this. but to look at all people that "look" like that is unfair to them as well as to you. the last time people were so paranoid, thousands of japanese immigrants, both first and second, and even some third generation were sent to "internment camps," not because of their proven involvement with the japanese government's attack on peark harbor, but simply because they were japanese. these people came here to live out the american dream, and in the end, they lost their homes, their shops, their livelihood, and their trust in the american ideal of freedom and equality. to them, even to this day, those japanese internees still feel that freedom and equality belong to mainstream white america. i would hate to see that happen to another whole group of people because of the 19 on those planes.

I know I'm gonna get my ass kicked for this, but on a lighter note, it's an impressive sculpture. The skill it would take to make that, and out of sand no less, is really something else.
Not saying that I approve of the choice of subject matter, but still.

I'm very impressed on the insight provided by tonkabui. To inform you guys, I am a Hindu born in Jacksonville, Fl. but nonetheless a hindu. I am Indo american and damn proud to be so. I just wanted to mention that I'm so happy that there are individuals out there who can distinguish between these groups. Thank you very much. I'm not Sikh, nor muslim, but a Hindu. Differences exist in each.

Thanks for your educating,

Rishie

BTW, the picture fake or not is sickening. I have quite a few friends who work in the WTC and would have been devastated had they been hurt and am still devastated by the amount of damage and pain those events caused.
