So... I'm headed home tonight from work; out on those country roads I travel everyday. I'm getting ready to turn right onto SR193 from Fisherville Rd. (you all know the road), and there goes my wife in her gorgeous 2002 ES. She seldom takes that route; but like me; she likes to switch it up once in awhile. (her company moved 4 miles west of my office in Collierville back in Feb.) She has a 27.5 mile drive each way to work.
So.. I follow her a couple of miles east to SR196, where we turn left, when my cell phone rings. She called to tell me how cool the MAZDASPEED looked sitting there as she went by. I asked her if she wanted to switch cars for the final 8 miles to the house. She said no. It was cool. She hasn't driven my baby since it has ad the added boost and the HSM Axle-Back Exhaust installed.
So...we turn left, heading north on SR196. This is about where I got my speeding ticket in March (chair). I continue to follow her (while admiring that sweet Meguiar's Shine on her Silver Beauty)We get up to Highway 64 (3.5 miles from home). She turns east at the stop sign, and I follow. The speed limit is 65mph. She's moving along nicely when I pull alongside her, downshifting to 4th gear - I check out, taking to about 80mph, then slowing back to 70mph. As we near Oakland, the speed limit drops to 55mph, then to 45mph. You speed in Oakland - you get a ticket! Plain and Simple!
So....we drop to the 55mph zone as I slow, and she pulls to my right side. I downshift to 4th - then 3rd; Accelerate (the Turbo spools), I go to 4th gear, then slow again.
She pulls in following me into the garage, and said the MAZDASPEED sounded BadAss!!
It must be true! (thumb)
Now; back to the regular scheduled program.....
