I need a final conclusion on the RX-8 wheels on the MSP I know they fit the P5 but how about the MSP, will they fit?

Do I need to get spacers?

I'm stock height.

Please reply I don't have much time.

you could "downgrade" to sedan/P5 struts and not need spacers - I believe the issue is with stock rear MSP struts rubbing - so yes you would need spacers in the rear

They'll fit. 5 mm spacers in the rear - max. Hit up the search function above with "rx8 wheels msp" and you'll find a good amount of info and some good pix among the threads.

where can I buy 5mm spacers at?

Spacer just for the rear, right?

This is the only issue, with 5mm spacers in the rear everything should be fine, correct?

yes.. just the rear

does anyone know if the fender needs rolled on the rear with the spacer on a MSP? that would be the only other issue I could see

as far as buying them, I never have, so maybe someone else could help out with that

Cool, thanks.
Does anyone else know where I could get spacers?

No need to roll the fenders - the sedan actually has a litttle extra fender room in the rear compared to the P5. google for the spacers (you may need to convert mm to an inch fraction to expand your options)

*Edit* - Oh yeah, one more thing - If you plan on staying at stock height you can probably get away with the stock RX8 tire size. Any sort of drop and you'll have to run 215/35/18's to be safe.

I'd still go to a 215/35-18 because if you'll rub when dropped, there will be some point at which you'll rub at stock height (hard cornering, loaded conditions, large bumps/dips, etc.)

btw, I'd highly recommend a drop of some sort - especially since you're going to 18" wheels - the wheel gap will be accentuated with the shorter sidewall and larger rim

but if you go through with it, be sure to post pics ;)

I concur! (yes) I was going to run a set of RX8 wheels on my P5, but decided to run my MSP wheels. Chuyler1 is rolling my set now - looks best with a little drop.

well, I ended up buying the RX-8 wheels, to good of a deal to pass up (4) wheels, (4) tires (225/45/18's I hope these don't rub!!!) all with 8K miles for $500.00, not bad.

Does anyone know if I will rub with a 45 series tire at stock height?

that tire size is way too big for a protege - try it out, but for 99% sure, you're gonna be rubbing all over the place

Yeah I thought that.

Are there any places that will give you money/trade for 215/35/18's, I mean these tires only have 8k miles?

They are the OEM tires

I doubt many places would do trades, but you could sell them on a RX-8 forum or ebay

Well I got the RX-8 wheels on and all I can say is WOW. The wheels look like they were made for this car. Also note that No modifications were needed. Will post pics soon!!!!
