Reserved the last BEGI kit today.

oil is tapped at the oil sensor then returned through the pan. Both were easy to run.

ah ok now i understand. thanks yous. also was it hadr to run the oil lines? and were did you tap to get the oil? oil pan?

Oil line is tapped into the oil pressure sensor galley in the back of the block between cylinders 2 & 3.

Hey guys, Congrats on the turbos, I am quite envious, here is a question, have you had them dynoed? on begi's website it says that after they dynoed the car it was only 167 hp, now that seems really really low for a turbo, and a s*** load of money for just 37 hp, I could be reading it wrong, I'm planning on getting this turbo kit down the road but if that is all I'm goin to be runnin is 167 than screw that.
Any answers????

You need to understand that we're talking WHP-not HP at the crank.... That 167 HP would be more like 200-205 crank HP which is what you're used to seeing.

Your car probably has 100 HP to the wheels if that... So really you'd be gaining about 100 HP.. The 167 is at 6psi-not 8psi- which is what you will be running. And at 8psi you'd probably be at more 190 WHP-which is like 240-250 crank HP.

Trust me.. Money for any turbo system is worth it, no matter which route you go. They all have their pros and cons.

Read the stock dyno on FM's website - only 98 or so HP pre-turbo. They are reading wheel horsepower, not crank horsepower. The 167 HP translates to almost an increase of 70 horsepower over stock!!! That puts the kit at about 200 HP. Remember that although Mazda states that the P5 has 130 HP, this is at the crank not accounting for the loss of power to the wheels.

:) No prob.

It's worth it bro. Us BEGI beta testers had it a little rough, but with FM now polishing everything up-it's been great.. Not to mentiont hat the guys at BEGI and FM are quality calss acts. You won't get better engineering and customer care anywhere else.

As far as mazda tuning go-you can't go wrong with BEGI and FM. :p

I found out the source of my oil leak. I contacted BEGI and told them about the problem. They say that they had a customer that had an oil leak fixed, and it leaked again. It turned out to be the gasket on the oil-return side of the turbo. They shipped me a new one, free of charge, that will be here Monday! After this leak is fixed, the sky's the limit!!!

Since I saw someone looking at this thread OLD, OLD thread, I figured that I would let you know to only use the fiber/paper gaskets on the oil return fitting of the turbo, and not the rubber type. That's where my problems were steming from...the rubber type!

I actualy just noticed mine was ever so slightly leaking the other day, never even enough to build up.

talk about bumping an old thread, patrick :D

i called BEGi yesterday to order a kit for the customer and they told me they were no longer manufacturing or supporting the kit :( RIP

Wow, so the kit is gone? I guess not enough sells, and not enough "Bling".

yep its gone, not even really any replacement parts which worries me a little bit. hiboost's kit really put the nails in the coffin IMHO when it came out and Flyin Miata had thier hands pretty full with the Miata to really do anything further with the kit.

lol OLD ASS THREAD! lol I remember how excited I was. Overall it was a big time learning experience for me.... But the overal picture is this:

-I charged the Kit on a CC and am still paying off mods from my mazda
-I sold the car and bought an evo
-The MP3 blew up 2 months after being sold

Yeah, the HiBoost kit really put it on em'. It came more complete, and with a better positioned FMIC.

:) My kit turned into a MAM kit (except for the turbo and manifold) and it ran a lot better, plus looked great.
