Nice bro, who you guinna have install it?

Well today I payed for a 2001 Protege Shop Manual ($125 USD/$149 with tax) from the dealership, and I believe that some friends and I may do it. From what I hear, Corky provides detailed instructions. First I am gonna get my pistons changed to the stock 9.1:1 compression.

So much for the FS-ZE advantage I guess then...What are you going to do with the other pistons??

Not sure, but one may not be in good shape. Will not know till I can look inside the block! $$$$$$

NICE LinuxRacr!!! Welcome to boost world! (thumb)

About that shop manual, did you get it? If yes, is it worth it?

BOOST! (laugh)

(lol)

I remember when I had my N20, and how it felt. I can't wait to pull on a unsuspecting Spec-v! ON the shop manual, It will probably be a week before I recieve it. I may put my car in the shop on Monday to get that clattering sound fixed, and get my pistons changed out.

Ok,

I dropped my car at the shop this morning, and they have found out that I had a desentergrated rod bearing. That's where the engine clatter was comming from. They will be replacing those, along with the pistons I ordered. I think it was definitely worth it to get this stuff looked into before the turbo kit is put on. Hopefully I will be rollin (pre-turbo) on Wednesday.

Right on Bro!!

Any word on when you're supposed to get your BEGI kit? I should be getting mine in a week or so. But we aren't putting it on Till October 1st.

Any chance I could get you to photocopy the ENTIRE shop manual? hehe :p

I talked to Corky today, and he said about 3-3 1/2 weeks. Only 8 out of 10 kits are fabricated. My stuff should be done before they recieve the turbo.

Good one bro!(rofl) That thing will probably be anywhere from 6 inches to 1 foot thick!

Let me re-prase that...I will be replacing ALL of my desentergrated rod bearings. I accually have them, and may provide some pictures of them. All my parts should be at the shop tomorrow, and hopefully I will be rollin the same day. They speculate that whoever had the engine previously in Japan probably ran low on oil at one point, and caused the start of the current problem. Lesson: You never know what you are gonna get from Japan, and there isn't much you can do about it. Turbo FS-ZE/DE hybrid soon to come!

After getting to drive the FM's turbo Protege 5 yesterday, I wish I had bought a kit sooner. But oh well, I guess I will just have to wait for them to finish testing theirs to get one...

Darn!

Hey, sorry to here about your FS-ZE being thrashed that bad Linux...But, you will be happy with the turbo.

Just got a call from the shop. They discovered that a couple of my cylinder walls have been gouged a little. They will have to be bored out, and I would need oversized pistons. (argh)

Why the hell is this happening to me!

Hey, look at it this way, you're just increasing the bore of the motor, maybe you'll have an advantage over the rest of the BEGI folks!:D

Now I am just waiting for the call back to see how much more $$$$ it will be. I went to the shop and saw from myself. This sucks!!! Suggestions Please!!!

What did you do with the other motor, the original one? Is it in a better condition than this FS-ZE?

That's the problem with those motors. You realy don't know their conditions when you buy it.
