OK....so there have been a million and one threads about how to install boost gauge pods on your A-pillar, but every single one of them leaves out an important step:

How do you remove your A-pillar cover?

I'm looking to do install this weekend, so anyone who's already done this please help! :)

Grab and pull just like when you were little :D ..

Seriously, just pull it away from the windshield puller, it should snap right off..

And what about putting it back on then? After I've drilled a hole in it and mounted the gauge pod? Does it just snap back into place? Are there brackets? Or is it just shaped to conform to the A-pillar? Am I going to loosen it by doing this and get an annoying rattle?

Just look at the trim piece when it is off and you will be able to tell how it clips together. I have no problems with rattles or anything, the fasteners are pretty good.

That's pretty cool how it's easy to remove. I just learned that I could unscrew my shift knob. I would actually like to remove the A-pillar and paint it black to match the interior, but I'm afraid it won't come out looking professional.

Speaking of removal, the badges on the trunk lid can be unscrewed from the inside of the trunk, correct?

If you got an autometer A-pillar then it was made to snap on over your factory one without removing it.
Umm, no. Every one I have had comes with little plastic push "rivets" that you have to drill the pillar trim for. Also, how would you drill through the trim and run the wires and hose behind it? It has to come out :). It is only a 2 second deal to remove.
