Regular Protege Intake on MSP?

https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) is sold for the regular Protege, but most sites seem to indicate that it will also fit the Mazdaspeed Protege. My friends got it for my birthday (they're awesome) and I was wondering if it would fit or if I should take it back and get a different one. It seems like the turbo and non-turbo intakes are not interchangeable because one attaches to the throttle body while the other attaches through the turbo. Is this correct or can I make it fit?

they are not routed the same way, like you said, one is NA(from throttle body) and the other is for a turbo application. Could you make it fit? Yes, probably with a few couplers and a little bit of cutting to the intake pipe. Would I do it? No

Is this the only mod that you have? If you are running custom intercooler piping (with a atmospheric bov setup) it really doesn't matter how your intake is routed for the most part. I relocated my maf and had just a few inch aluminum pipe with a filter for my intake. It was something a buddy had laying around his garage.
