Reducing oil consumption.

well i've had these on my car for a few days now. i do get that clicking type noise, i've read that it indicates i have a good valve seal? i seen a small video clip of the sound on their car, but its a constant sound. Mine comes and goes....does this mean mine isnt working as good or is this fine?

Is the JE26-labeled PCV the correct one? I bought it from ken, it should be the one from the miller-cycle millenia, but someone on here said the JE26 is from the MPV or somethin.. it seems to have more blowby than my stock one!

Tzar177 - i'd like to hear Kane's input on this. I haven't installed mine due to SNOW here. Is it really loud, like noticeably loud even inside the car?

Interesting. Thanks for posting that up. My assumption is that the sound is the valve opening and closing with the idle to keep the oil on the engine side of the valve instead of shoving it out like normal. But i could be easily wrong as i don't know.

Regardless, i'm ok with ticking from the engine bay (we have horrendous valve tick anyway) as long as i keep engine oil in the engine and not in the engine bay.

^ Werd.

Give us the word if your keeping oil in from these little guys.....Im hesitant to buy, but since u picked em up already ill let u be the guy to let us know :) Im tired of losing a 1.5 quarts of oil every couple of weeks......

the popping noise is coming from the vacuum created by the KV's. The seals on the valve cover where your spark plugs sit is the culprit of the noise. It is said that if u lube up the seals from the underside of the valve cover that the noise will go away. Or perhaps if you can find stronger seals, would prolly work even better as they would not flex like stockers

Lube up which seals.. the spark plug boots, or the valve cover gasket? If the krank vents allow the crankcase pressure to be free slowing as it should be, I wouldn't think you'd have any issue with the valve cover gasket not holding up to pressure (what pressure?).

Interesting for the crank case vent but there are 2 is someable to find out where they go so that I do purchase them i know where to installe them

Tzar if you could post up some pictures that would be great. The more i'm thinking about the install, the more i'm realizing that i don't have a breather line running to the valve cover from the intake anymore. I just closed off the hole on the intake, and put an external breather filter on the valve cover.

Hmmmm...

Can we install this only on the PCV, or does it need both to function effectively?

The crankcase breather is where it draws in the air (if it's like other cars I've come across researching turbo PCV systems), so you should be ok as long as your crankcace isn't being pressurized (either by disabling/venting the PCV system to a filtered catch can). If it is being pressurized, you'll probably see oil on/around that filter.

This isnt my valve cover but only to show the seals i was referring to. If you have an external filter on the side, i would throw a short hose there and put the filter on the end and place the krank vent in the middle. Your breather filter would then sorta be dangling there

Allrighty... Trying to install these today.

I just want to make sure i have the procedure and order correct.

PCV > Catch Can In > Catch Can Out > KrankCase Valve > Intake Manifold

and then...

Valve Cover > KrankCase Valve > Breather Hole (Injen Intake)

Can anyone confirm this?

I'm wondering why i don't put it in this order (to keep oil from ever reaching the catch can) PCV > KrankCase Valve > Catch Can In > Catch Can Out > Intake Manifold?????

I dont think you would want the KV's before your catch can. I wouldnt want oil in there... But you can try and let us know

I talked to automotive speed... i had the whole theory of how they worked backwards. The first way i posted is right. Though i'm installing them without a catch can now. I'll post up some pics tonight.

It was an issue caused by the hosting company. I have fixed it and all should be well and running smoothly as well as and most importantly securely.

interested..."product not found"???

...reason for why your not installing a catch can?

Eh... whats the point? If these things do essentially the same thing, why mess with it? That, and i don't want to have to fabricate another bracket for it.

I have a perrin catch can for sale (black) if anyone wants it.

Also, installed them, started her up and the idle seemed really smooth. Went for a drive and the car was running noticeably better. I had higher oil presure (ever since i put it back to the stock setup and ditch my catch can the oil pressure was reading a lot lower) and the entire car seems to rev a bit faster, and smoother.

I'm very impressed.
