Rear speaker access and blue turn on wire

I previously had a Pioneer Avic D3 (with bluetooth, XM and backup camera) installed along with a Kenwood Kscsw10 subwoofer. I decided to take it all out as I don't really use any of it. I have free turn by turn with my G1 and music thru Zune (instead of XM). I am putting the stock radio back in (2008 Mazda5 GT)

I now need to reconnect the subwoofer as the stock radio has no RCA preouts.

How long does it take time wise to get to the rear speakers so I can tap them?
Anyone know an easy way to access the blue "turn on" wire for the subwoofer? I have an old wiring diagram and I think it's pin 9. Can anyone confirm this?

If anyone is at all interested in my Pioneer setup let me know. The system only has 11,000 miles on it (installed 4/08).

It will take about a half hour to get to the rear speakers (and put everything back), which includes taking out the third row of seats.

And you may consider another aftermarket radio, one that will play mp3s off of a flash drive and/or SD card. That way you don't have to worry about keeping your Zune charged, and you can control the music through the radio controls rather than picking up the Zune and fiddling with it.

Eh....I use the Zune Pass ($15 a month for unlimited music for up to 3 devices). All the music is DRM protected so playing off a flash drive/SD card is out. I drive so little (average 20 miles a day/600 miles a month/35 minutes a day) that it doesn't make much financial sense.

Thanks for the write up though.

It took me around 30 mins to tap both rear speaker wires. I did it without removing the 3rd row. Once the rear panel is removed, you'll probably need someone to hold it open for you while you do the wire tapping. As for the amp turn on wire, I just used the 12V outlet plus (+) positive in the back. Much simplier than running the wire all the way to the front.

Hmm never thought about using the 12V outlet for a turn on wire. I might use the front outlet as I already have that cable run up there. Thanks for the tip. I'm still very new to car stereo, learning as I go.
