bcbadboy...did you have to make it fit yourself?? Did it come with any type of instructions that helped you, or was it basically up to you to make it work right?? what did you pay for it? Thanks for the info...I'll have to check into this for sure:)

I looked at the stock one and then I went to the hardware store that the valve and the stock one also with the hoses and just asked the guy for a hose that will fit both ends and that's what he made for me. well he did make it but just cut it to size for me. I I pretty much did it myself with out instructions. It is common sence. I paid like $90 for it new.

Does the turbo xs bypass valve sound like the stock one but louder? As in you just hit an owl and it's trapped between the radiator and the grill? Or somebody spent all afternoon at the all you can eat burrito bar at chi-chi's?

I realize it's not going to sound like an atmospheric BOV (pssssccccccccttt) but try and give your best description. BTW thanks for the detailed pics!

It sounds like a bad fart lol.
It is hard to describe in words. It is louder than the factory but I will go with the owl gig.

Kevin- thought you had a HKS SSQ and then took it off? Did you switch to a recirculating Turbo XS?

no I went recirc because I wanted to feel how rich it was actually making the air to fuel mixture. I recently went to ocean city md and there was a huge car show and you konw I gotta represent the mazdaspeed. plus it's track time and the hks is about a s*** load quicker

Thanks RX! I was curious because you sounded like you knew what to expect from the Turbo XS.

to be honest, I didn't hear many nice sounding blow off valves the SSQ impresses me cause you can manipulate the blow off soung by shifting at different points, I can drive in 4th gear hit decent boost and quickly ease out of the gas and have the bov cracked for about 3 seconds, it's the most badass thing to scream by someone on the highway and hit the bov next to them while going under an overpass. I wish some of the s*** I do was video taped

LOL that's good stuff. I would just think you have issues with both stalling and mounting properly. I remember a while back you rigged up a pretty cool set of pipes to make it happen but it involved some pieces off of your RX-7 or something of that nature. I would mount that right up if I had both the resources (rx 7 parts) and the ability to keep away from stalls.
