Question to anyone with aftermarket exhaust

It's been a while since I've put an exhaust on a car (last one was about 7 years ago in a ricer). I was wondering if anyone has put an aftermarket exhaust on a 5 and if yes, what brand? More specifically I wanted to know the noise impact. How much louder is it? I do not want the "bumble bee" sound, but would be curious to releaving some of the flow.

I know this might be a double edge sword, i.e. more flow-more noise, but is there a happy medium? like a deeper but not really that noisey MS3 sound etc....

Thanks for input.

I wonder what a Mz5 exhaust would look like next to a MS3 (stock) exhaust. Obviously, there's the difference right out the engine bay with the downpipe from the turbo on the MS3, but I wonder how far back one could cut the MS3 exhaust, weld on a flange and connect to the Mz5, accounting for the difference in wheelbase, of course.

You may have already seen this. I would go with a tried and true product so hopefully others who have done exhaust can chime in with their feedback.

Of the members here who have/had the MS3 exhaust, it did not sound like they were too happy with it. Turbo exhausts do not work well on N/A cars due to the lost of exhaust velocity. It sounds nice but you lose power...

Yup, I've definetly seen the article, I'm concerned with the "type" of noise the exhast will provide. I wasn't really considering putting a MS3 exhaust on, I guess I should not have brought it up, but it was for sound refference. I don't want a "bumble bee" sound, just something deeper, or the same, but with higher performance.

Regarding the article, if there is anyone with that particular exhaust, I would love to hear any feedback.

Thanks.
